CTD when I try to take Thessalonica

I been playing this as I like to play and have just about held southern part of greece and built it up however I tried to siege Thessalonica and when I do succeed its a CTD.

Is there some script linked to it or something I am missing?

How many times? Even with SPQR u get the occassional ctd, I take it you have tryed several times with a ctd each time?
If it always ctd as same point, u can always try an auto calc to take settlement, see if that gets arround it.

I heard something similar several times, but from what I have understood there is no clear solution.
It is caused by some strange combination of factors.
I would suggest to try the same siege after 1 or 2 turns, and see if you avoid the CTD.

I've got it saved at the point. What was annoying I had fought two previous battles that took about an hour for the two and then when it went to CTD after I sieged it I just did auto for the fights to get me back to that point of sieging.

Never save before a siege, one its cheap, and second if something happens you are out of luck.

I suggest 2 saves always like I DO.

bASICALLY what happens is sometime a city is requested by the senate and when you go to take it, it CTDs. lol Wait till teh mission is up then take it. If its NOT a seane mission city then all I can suggest is leave it alone for a while. Their are some random Hardcoded bugs in RTW dealing with sieges that pop up time to time, I think it mainly has something to do with the senate. So if there was no senate they are less likely to happen.

Sounds like you messed your game up. Did you try retreating?

I've left Thessalonica well alone even though I would like to take it as I am trying to work my way around the coast and by doing so I could have a nice road network.

For now I've left it and started to attempt a link up with mainland Italy and Greece. I just wanted to stomp down Macedonia abit.
