Default Unlimited units on the battlefield?

I know some other mods make it available for the player to control several full stacks on the battlemap, was wondering if SPQR had this feature.

AI reinforcements just LOVE to sprint all the way across the battlefield, arrive to the fight exhausted, and of course I lose my reinforcing General who charges in alone headlong into a line of Phalanx formation Hoplites...

If you mean having the units of other armies fill in your gaps, then yes. If you mean controlling several legions at once, you're outta luck. I heard that M2TW comes with that feature but it's not perfected yet.

Was meaning controlling several legions at once, ie controlling your reinforcements(full stack main army, and controlling a second full stack reinforcement army as well).

Ihih I hope you have the speed and computational abilities of a CPU!
For me, it's already too much to control a single stack!

The future of these games is more automation: I'm sure that in a not-so-far future we will be able to bring 10 legions in battle (what happened very often in those times) and we would just give generic orders to their leaders (defend that, attack, cover this other legion's flank, protect the hill, etc...). It is pointless to insist on micro-management, that way we'll never be able to recreate the truly big and epic battles of old.

To clarify, M2TW is no different in this respect. In kingdoms, the new feature is that you can give general orders to your AI reinforcements. You will NOT have direct control over more than 20 units at a time.

One of the most exciting new features is controlling multiple reinforcements. This feature allows the player to have bigger battles than ever before and be the commander of the whole battle! The player can issue commands to reinforcement armies and still control the units in his own army, letting him thus stage massive strategic operations. For example, the player can attack a huge castle from four sides at once with a full army on each side!

I'd missed that bit of info. That will surely make me buy Kingdoms!
