    Default Templar Campaign : Falling for the Devil

    Okay, I know I started like 2 AAR's and never really finished them
    But that was because the mods changed, the vanilla patches weren't out yet, so yeah...

    So this time, I will finish the AAR, the Templar Campaign : Falling for the Devil
    The Storyline depends on the Campaign progress of course, but I will put in my writing talent to describe it my way...

    Await it to start soon, I need to play for some years before I start.
    I hope you can forgive me that I didn't finished my danish AAR, and that you will enjoy this one

    }~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~{

    }~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~{

    It is 1095, in the year of the Lord.

    Hugues de Payns, Grandmaster of the order of the Knights Templar, was standing on his balcony in his castle in Tortosa.
    The view was amazing, the wind playing with the desert.. it was a strangely beautiful Land, and Hugues has been here for the longest part of his life. Sent by the Pope, to destroy the heretics, and to bring Christianity to these barbarian Lands.

    But the time here changed him. He has seen too many things, he learned there were no barbarians here...
    He was losing faith in the Pope. All these holy men, sitting in Rome, not knowing what these lands are like..

    His thoughts were disturbed by loud sound of footsteps coming closer to his door. He walked over to the door and opened it. In front of him, stood a man. A tired men, a worn out men. On his dirty armor, he had the insignia of the Papal States

    "Grandmaster, I have orders from the Pope!"

    He said and bowed

    "Speak good man"

    Hugues said friendly, but inside, he already damned the messenger... new orders from the Pope.. more violence..

    "The Pope sent me to tell you the time has finally come, god spoke to him! It is time to crush the barbarians and take over the holy lands! The orders are: Conquer every City the barbarians have, kill everyone who isn't willing to convert to the true religion"

    The messenger spoke fanatically, Hugues could hear the words of the Pope in his head...

    "I will take care of it. Now go and rest at the soldiers quarter, you deserve it"

    Hugues replied and sent the messenger away.
    He sat down on his chair and looked out of his window, a sad expression on his face
    "Again... murdering.. killing.. in the name of the Church, in the name of the Pope.."
    Whispering to himself, he fell asleep..

    In the next morning, he prepared the his army, to fight against the Muslims once again

    The Templar army is ready for war

    "Once more we fight - In the name of God and the Church!"

    }~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~{

    1101, Antioch was captured, with great losses, it was a short, hard and brutal batte, the same happened a few years later in Damascus

    At 1111, the son of the Grandmaster, Theodericus, was sent to attack the Egypt - He was only 18, but the best way to become a man is on the battlefield. And he went out at the right time, at 1114, A crusade was called out, the target was Jerusalem. So Theodericus went to Jerusalem, and sieged it in 1119...

    The battle was long, bloody and lasted the longest part of the day, but in the end, the Templars were victorious!

    }~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~{

    But as soon as the Templar captured Jerusalem and finished the Crusade, a giant army of Egyptian soldiers tried to regain control of Jerusalem....

    Theodericus was heavily outnumbered, but he stood his ground bravely, and killed nearly all of the Egypt invaders, before he and his last men were killed by a cavalry strike from the back...

    After that event, Theodericus being killed, the Templars were hurt deeply by the loss and wanted revenge...
    A unbelievable large army of Templars was recruited, trained and prepared to kill the Egyptians for what they had done..

    It was a dark evening, Grandmaster Hugues was standing on his balcony, his best friend Thorwyn from Denmark at his side
    "I had no grudge against the Egyptians... but the Pope forced me to fight them. And now, my son is dead. I can't forgive the Pope who caused this, nor I can forgive the Egyptians who killed him..."

    Hugues spoke, his face was hard, no faith could be found in it... His eyes had a empty look, like he was dead...

    Thorwyn looked Hugues in the eyes, and worried about his friend..

    "Whatever you do, I will be at your side.. you seem to have lost faith in Christendom.. I have to admit, out here in the desert, it's hard to still believe in the Pope, who sits in Rome on his golden chair.. and has no idea what happens here. In all these years.. I have lost faith in him..."

    Hugues laid his hands on the shoulders of his friend

    "Then it's settled! We will first get revenge for my son here, and then we will head for the damned Pope!"

    A small fire started to burn in his dead eyes...

    }~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~{

    All the years till 1128, the Templars were hunting and killing every single man from Egypt they could find..
    Their cities were destroyed, their soldiers slaughtered, only showing mercy towards children and women

    Pretty good. I hope Tortosa is in Iberia somewhere, though. Also, the First Crusade wasn't called until 1095 I think. But still, it's off to a good start!

    Glad you like it, and in this AAR, history is not important - As it will rewrite history anyway

    Not true ^^

    I'm just waiting for my new RAM to arrive, as I refused to play Medieval II with my old computer - I have everything but the RAM. As soon as I have it, I will play again.. and will be able to continue this AAR.

    And I will probably get it today ^^
