Default Why I always do not have sufficient money?

I am now holding 3 wonders and 40+ settlements (entire Italy and Sicily, half Gaul and most of Greek, part of Asia minor) and at least a dozen of them have built or are building imperial palaces.

However, I am only able to support two named legions, one republic and one imperial. Besides, I have 10000 soldiers in Gaul, 12000 in Greek, 15000 in Asis Minor, all pre-marin units.

People said players will have tons of money while playing SPQR.

How comes I only get 40000+ for building and nothing left?

    Help plz.

Be careful, you should organize premarian units in legions too. If you do that, from your numbers you will get another 12 legions, all premarian, going to a total of 14 legions.
From my knowledge of the numbers at stake you should be able to keep about 2 legions for every 3 cities. But of course, this is true only when you have maximum ports, markets and roads in your cities, and when the populations are happy enough that you don't spend money on entertainments and large garrisons. So I suppose there's still a long building work to do!

I think, you are conquering too fast...

I usually expand my limits only if i had a strong line of suplies, and a balanced economy to suport the campaign.

I only start an expand campaign if i have enough border legions, and an expeditionary force of 3-5 legions per batle front.

For example, if i'm going at war with greeks, i first send an expediotanary force by land taking city by city and if the expansion is too hard, i open a second front with a new expeditionary force only when im able to do it, if i can't aford it, i take defensive positions and improve my economy for my next expand expedition...

I really enjoy to build and strong empire step by step, and usually i had happy citicenz with minor rebolts and a strong army and economy all the time.

You obviously aren't playing by the houserules. The game is intended to be played strictly by the houserules, and if you do this it will play right.

Ah, thank you all for advice.

I am playing by the house rules, but not strictly-- I replaced two skirmisers with two extra archors (1 general, 10 corherts, 3 spearmen, 4 archors, 2 cavalries) and used higher positions a lot. I am also playing "garrison" mod, but sometimes my spys opened the gates for me or, it happens all the time, another enemy army attacked my sieging legion, and unfornately I killed them all, then I took cities right away. I took Sparta, Athens and some others in this way.

I am also building economic buildings in the first place in every new city and trying to build temples to please the local residents, and I have been eliminating the residents once I lost over 200 men in fights, so my garrisons are not really high... I am wondering if I will be able to build new buildings to get extra money after certain years, the time is 186BC. Or, I should consider taking the mines in Spain earlier if that is the case.

wierd, 40 provinces you should be able to field several legions, I think you are mismanaging your empire. I suggest stopping and start building and replace premarius with the correct legions retire the old for the new. Sounds like your Campaign is a mess of units all over the place. lol

If you dont get grips on this you will lose your campaign.
