curiosity killed the cat i hear...
i am curious about the age of blackpowder... and how it could be modded into the game - either as an extension to vanilla mtw2 - with new units and buildings on top of those that already exsist, or as a seperate mod altogether...
say 1500 to 1799
the age would start with late era mtw units, guns, pikes, heavy cavalry... and end up somewhere immediately prior to napoleon, or perhaps at the american revolution... some nations would have to be added or changed... eg austria, prussia the ottomans etc... and perhaps, paganism would need to be replaced with protestantism, (and pagan priests for example, with lutheran monks.)
the units would be easy enough, if time consuming... skinning would be no issue given the wealth of uniform guides, and the late era uniforms being standardised...
however the more difficult aspects would be adding fortifications from early bastions to classic star forts and walls... the age is dominated by the canon, as blackpowder would suggest... and the fortifications of vauban and co would be essential... modding of city walls would be the key - lowering and thickening... and replacing canon towers with bastions.
thoughts?
