Need Help!!!

hello... been checking these forums since rome TW and i've appreciated the work that many of you have done in the modding community. But i got a problem with my MIITW.

i tried modding (adding new units, giving units to other factions) and had a problem that i couldn't figure out. i didn't know what i messed up so opted to reinstall. heres the problem.... i was trying to play a new campaign as Venice when i tried using my Venetian Heavy Infantry (very cool looking units) in battle they were not the the plate armour units in the unit info card. they were crossbow-ish looking units wielding the hammer/spike and shield.

my question is simple.... what happened and how do i get back my cool looking VHI models back into campaign game?

(also the correct models play in Quick Battle but not in campaign play and i've noticed that dismounted men at arms sometimes load models looking like gendermes but not all the time... weird)

If you can help or give me ideas i'd be very greatful.

possibly armor upgrades?

tried that... i cheated with process_cq to get the highest level of tech possible but there aren't any other units that change models completely based on armour upgrades are there?

umm almost all vanilla units if you give them armor upgrades they'll look different.

i tried doing armour upgrades... no dice. argh!!! this sucks... i just started trying my hand at modding and now i totally screwed up the unit i wanted to play with
