Best Faction with the Desert Bonus

With the upcoming Megas Alexandros Tourney (July 22), I figured this topic would be pertitent since it will take place on the Syrian Flats map (a desert map).

Several questions to answer:

1) How much of a bonus does the "Desert Bonus" actually give to such units (that receive the desert bonus)?

2) Which is the best faction that receives the desert bonus?

3) Even with the Desert Bonus, is there enough of an advantage to separate the "desert factions" from the factions that don't receive desert bonuses?

Here are the Desert Bonus Factions:

EGYPT

PARTHIA

NUMIDIA

ARMENIA

As for the best Desert Bonus faction, it seems like Egypt is a no-brainer. Even without the desert bonus, they're already awesome. Plus, every unit in Egypt's arsenal (including the Peasants) receives a Desert Bonus. To top it off, Egypt has access to chariots, chariot archers, bowmen and Pharaoh's Bowmen. In my opinion, Pharaoh pwns the desert!

But as for who's still the best faction to use in the desert (even with the desert bonus), that's a more difficult question to answer.

guess who i voted for... cata camels are the cream of the corn. they can top cavalry in grasslands, as well as even more in the desert.

persian cav are also a war winnin force.

I love those Egyptian hats.

Does anyone else think that Carthage should get some kind of Desert Bonus? It's not that far from the Sahara.

If you had more money, i would say Armenia or Parthia, but with only 10k probably Egypt in my opinion.

Egypt all the way. Chariots will rip Parthia and Armenia's cataphracts, and one of the best archers in the game can outshoot HA's. Numidia doesn't even come close.

Egypt hands down, haveing the chariots in a desert are useful for breaking the other factions, whilst the bowman and infantry are well for standing up against the heat and having heavier infantry then numidia and parthia.

Though Arminia may have a strong chance also, with their cataphract archers, they could easily shoot the eygptian infantry to peices, they either in the Pharoah's guard with no sheilds or the other spearmen with little armour.

Egypt, obviously. Numidia's troops are far too weak.

With one ele allowed, Numidia wil beat Rome in a desert, more so with that money.

But yes, Eygpt will never lose a 10k game in a desert with a good player.
