LOSING HOPE: 260 bc TERMINAL CTD
about 40 turns into the game at 247 bc(playing greeks on plat 1.8), i have
clicked on finish move and am watching the different civs take their turns.
during carthage's turn the game crashes everytime. have tried changing fog
of war and other vid settings. nothing. note, the games played perfectly to
this point.
no other mods have been applied, and instructions were followed. only the
last autosave and a quicksave for the same year are available as fallbacks
and both crash as above. "-show_err" is enabled but no message with CTD. i
have also tried the cheextah's edb and dvk901's 'descr_regions.txt' and
'descr_strat.txt' mismatch corrections (laborious). i have
also replaced the event file. as well as having tried many of the other
tweaks listed in in the "end turn ctd think i know why" thread
(http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=60428 ).
if you could see what i am missing here i would appreciate it.
thanks for feedback, barca

Re: carthage, 260 bc crash
did you try changing something like move an army somehwere else or something. probably won't work but its worth a shot. Like I was about to conquer a city but it keeps on crashing, so I withdrew and it didn't crash and I siege it again the next turn then conquered it without any crashing.
LOL. I just read the 1.8 part. upgrading to 1.9 might fix it too.

Re: LOSING HOPE: 260 bc TERMINAL CTD
I feel your pain. I lost 2 campaigns to unresolved CTD issues. I have limited gaming time so to waste over 8 hours trying to debug CTD issues sucked. I gave up and tried again when I got a new PC and then it worked again. Good luck either way!

Re: LOSING HOPE: 260 bc TERMINAL CTD
I am not sure if some of those changes would take effect in the middle of campaign. Maybe try to delete the map.rwm again. Apparently it sometimes helps. If you are truely experiencing the revolt CTD, the only solution is that we should implement some type of generally recruiting unit like the peasants were in vanilla. Maybe using some of the existing DMB entries with new EDU enitries and making them available in the gouvernment building everywhere, but making them very expensive enough so that the AI will not build huge numbers of them. Sure, this is a proposed solution for the long term. If I understant correctly Salvor appears to have success with it in 77BC or at least people haven`t reported the problem yet.
You might need to start a new campaign. If you do, give v1.9 a try. It has a number of extra fixes and it should be more stable.
