THE MEGAS ALEXANDROS TOURNAMENT (Sunday - July 22)
Hail to all of you Ancient warriors!
I’ll be hosting a Rome: Total War (version 1.5) tournament to commemorate the birth of a great warrior-king. Many of history’s greatest generals from Hannibal to Napoleon have compared themselves to this man. He was known as Alexander the Great (or “Megas Alexandros” in Greek).
Alexander the Great was born in 356 BC (probably on July 20). One of the turning points in Alexander’s life was when he visited the great Oracle of Amun at the Siwa Oasis. It was here that the priests confirmed Alexander as a living god. But prior to arriving at this oracle, Alexander had to cross a murderous desert in which death was only a heartbeat away. Several times, he lost his way in the desert. And when his companions were out of water, only a miracle saved them from dying of thirst. A huge rainstorm erupted which saved these men from death by extreme dehydration. It was a miracle that Alexander ever saw the Siwa Oasis.
To commemorate this spiritual trek through the desert, we will be fighting our battles on the Syrian Flats map. It’s a flat, desert map.
Tournaments typically go for 2-3 hours. If you’re not committed to staying that long, then you should not enter.

- all players will meet in the Competitive (server)
- there are 3 rooms on GameSpy: Chat Lobby, Competitive and Friendly. Meet in the Competitive server.
RULES FOR THE TOURNAMENT
1. Please pre-register by filling out this questionnaire:

- Your Home Faction: (you can switch factions throughout the tourney)
- Additional Comments:
2) All players should add the prefix “[TWC]” in front of their names. For example, I’m typically known as the Prince_of_Macedon. But on the day of the tourney, my name will be [TWC]Prince_of_Macedon. Since most of us don’t know each other, this will be the best way to identify you on the server.
3) all games will be 10k denarii (10,000 denarii)
4) tournament map: Syrian Flats
5) do not change any of the battlefield conditions! The only thing you need to change is the map. And that map is the Syrian Flats. Everything else should be default.
6) Do not restrict the movement of the camera
7) Unit Size should be "Large" unless someone's computer can't handle it.
8) the game is Rome: Total War (version 1.5)
9) this is a 1 vs 1 tournament
10) there are no in-game rules (you can spam units, make elephants, use artillery, etc)
11) After you finish your battle, please wait for me to assign you your next opponent
12) You can switch factions as you please.
13) After a battle, both players will report the results to me (I want to know who won, and which factions were used)
14) If a game desyncs, please do not play that game out. Come back to the Competitive Chat, and we'll figure out who's desyncing.

16) The winner of this prize will receive only one reward: GLORY! The current Forum Champion is Oman.
For people who register, but fail to show up at the tournament, they will be receiving the Darius Award.

and neither can pet. Pets on holiday and i cant play because my internet is messed up atm. Good luck with the tourney. I'll definatly come to the next one though
