    Default Dirty English!

Before now, I have never been betrayed in TLR, and I've played many campaigns. As Portugal, France was mowing down the English, they took Exeter, Caen, Angers, and Antwerp from the English who had gotten those a while back, so I decided to help them. I allied with the English, took Exeter and Caen, and was just chilling for a while, and I can't remember what it's called now, but it was Outstanding. All of the sudden the English sieged Caen, and that pretty much shocked me.

Well, that was my nice long recap, but I've never been betrayed in this mod by someone who i was at Outstanding with, has anyone else?

I have, not even 2 hours ago, playing as sicily im slowly but surely taking control of southern Italy and agreeing trade rights with Rome, Venice and Milan to help fund the campaine.
In the year 1100, a Byzantine tradeing boat carrying valuable goods and a certain diplomatic charater arrive on the shores of the now unified southern states of Italy. And by 1101 sicily and byzantium had putten there differences aside and agreed a ceasefire, trade rights and a very unstable allience.
As the years went by, the two countries grew in friendship, sicily had helped the byzantiens with more then a few navel battles with the scurvy ridden piretes of the Ionian seas, the relashonship between these two peoples was very good at the least.

In the year 1113, the Turkish had decided they were to save the muslims from the orthodox religion of the Byzans and called apon a Jihad on the Byzan capitial of Κωνσταντινούπολις (Constantinople)

The turkish quickly surounded the weakly defended city and within a year had total control over the capitial slaughtering hundreds of christian/orthodox
    worshipers in the process.
Within the same year, the Holy Pope called out to the christian factions pleading them to go on a holy crusade to free the city of its non christian inhabitants and restore the faith to what was left of the now broken citys peoples.

And the call was anserd in mass, spain portagul and the holy roman empire sent there sons on the dangrous journey, the next year france milan and sicily also heard the call and prepared there armies to march.

milan were the first to reach the destination only to find a heavily defended city with more then equal reinforcements, the milinese were quickly vanquished with there general (heir to the throne) dieing, chocking on his own blood and vomit with an arrow through his neck.
This did not deter the crusaders thou, the HRE were the next to arive at the city along with sicily. The sicilian general met with the Reich and had arranged to attack the city together, the sicilians would attack the north gate while the holy roman empire would reinforce and attack the southern most gate, with a combined force of near ten thousand men they were sure to suceed.

One year go's by, "MY LORD, Turkish reinforcements are coming up from the east, scouts number them at 4 thousand infantry and two thousand cavalry and rumors are leaking that they are lead by the sultan himself"

The battle that followed was by far the bloodiest most grousome fighting the world had seen for many years, the holy roman emporer was slain, pulled of his horse with a halberd and blungened to death, which was all too much for the reichs soldiers and turnd tail and ran, the garrison guard poured out of the city and pursed them with anger and hatered (and growling stomachs)
the sicilians fought hard, cavalry charges retreat, cavalry charge retreat, sword on shield, spear on bone, face to face, blood on face, shatterd bones from halberd swings, piecerd wounds from arrow heads, voices screaming out with pain, pleads to god to end the pain, christian and muslim side by side, dieing together for the same god?

after many hours of battle, the sicilians had won the day, the turks had retreated, the city was captured and many were dead.

It was intended that the city was to be handed back to its rightful ocupiers once the pilliging had ended, but the byzans had another idea. six months after the battle for constantinople had ended they muster a force large enough to take back what was righfully theres and to do so in a matter of months, the army of the sicilians, broken from battle and betrayal fought with an itailians heart but were no match for the byzans numbers and armor upgrades , they were utterly destroyed, chooseing death on the field of battle rather then returning home shamed and disgraced to there loveing wives and chrildren.

so yea, ive been betrayed in TLR (sorry for the long novel like description, i just got carried away ) (oh and for the spelling mistakes, its like 5am right now and im tired as hell)

    Entertaining!

One of my favorite parts of this game is when two armies from different nations fight with each other against a third.

Too funny about the Byz betraying you like that, its kinda like "The Turks are coming fall back letter the other nations die on their spears, then come back and mop up".

That would have been an awesome campaign to play in.

I,ve noticed a thing. If faction A is at war with faction B, and takes several regions, and the human player then conquers those region from faction A, faction B almost allways attacks the human player, to recover his ex-regions. No matter how friendly it previosly was.

I was once plaing Venice, and took Constantinople, Nicaeea and Abydus(?) from the Turks, and gave them back to Byzantium, except Constantinople. Instead thanking me for the gifts, the Byzantines attacked me after a couple of turns.
