    Default adding music??!!!

im trying to make a video using windows movie maker, everything was fine until the music part, i tried to import a song but it didn't let me,
    this came up:
"cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again."

plz anyone help me add music to my video,

You're going to have to tell us the file type of the song you were importing. In any case, it means you have to install an audio codec onto your computer.

what is the file extension of the song file?

codecs are basically used to compress/decompress music or video files

the song you want to add is compressed with a specific codec and now you need that particular codec to decompress it to be able to play in your media player

try to play the song in the windows media player to see if it prompts for a codec download to be able to play the file
