    Default NAT Negotiation Failed

    Hello TWC and people,

When trying to join a game online, me as well as my friends get a message saying Nat Negotiation Failed. We've tried everything, DMZ, firewall off and port forwarding but we still get this message!

It seriously concerns me that if this problem isn't fixed I'll never have a game of MTW2 online again! Knowing that my friends have the same problem this isn't just a small issue, there must be many other players going through the same stress that I'm having.

I understand now that this has nothing to do with my side of the connection but more to do with gamespy. It's something they need to fix, what worries me further is that no-one else is mentioning this problem on the official forums and I don't know how to contact gamespy.

I'm slowly giving up with the Total War series and there ridiculous gamespy. Is there any hope for us multilayer fans? Can someone please contact the big shots and get them to fix this!

Multiplayer is a vital part for the success of any game and this problem is killing MTW2.

NAT Negotiation Failed = port forwarding error.

Are you 100% sure that you are forwarding the correct ports to the correct PCs (with the correct static IP addresses)?

Ok I though I'll bump this up since this has now been mentioned on the TW forums. People are having exactly the same problem and theres nothing to fix it. Nothing we know anyway.

Yup, i'm getting the exact same problem but I have not tried port forwarding as I have absolutely no clue about any of that stuff. >.< It used to work fine for me, any help is welcome to explain about how to solve it

Do you have a modem and a router? If so remember that on the modem you have to forward the ports to the router's IP address. Then on the router forward the ports to your IP address (I'd reccommend using a static IP).
