Default Can someone help Farnan out?

Ok, my desktop died, so I decided I'm going to get a laptop, due to the fact I plan to move around a good deal in the future and it takes up little room. I'm wondering if people here can help me choose which one to get.

    My requirements are simple:

Be able to play M2TW and COH
    Be under $1000 US

The other aspects I will use it for is school work, but any laptop can do that.

Thats tough man. Most notebooks capable of playing MTW2 let alone COH are going to be well over $1,000. I don't know much about notebooks so I will defer to someone else.

Your probably better off looking at a custom notebook site similar to this, to stretch you dollar a bit further.

    Thanks Barnaby...

Only problem is I don't got a credit card, and I don't plan on getting one soon. I rather wait till I get commissioned before I start worrying about debt.

Will the one I posted work though?

    A wise man.

Yeah, I see no reason why it wouldn't work just fine, before you dive in though give this thread a day or so to marinate in hopes you can get a possibly more informed decision on this.

but it was just about computers, but on that topic my laptop was £450 ($1100) and strugles like a ***** with MTW2, i'm almost about to give up with it. you do get more for your money in the US though.

    GOOD GOD WAIT!

That computer is craptacular, and probably wouldn't boot MT2W, much less play it. A 6150 is as bad, or just a smidge better than Intel graphics chips.

So you don't have a credit card. Do you have a debit card? They work the same way.

Now, finding a computer to run MT2W and COH under 1k is going to be very tough. I'd like to mention you can build a GREAT desktop for that, especially if you reuse the case and power supply. Laptops are not all they're cracked up to be. Mine's about a month old, and I've barely taken it anywhere. Battery Life, even in a light computer usually isn't super long.

    But if you insist.....
Here's a link to newegg, with an Asus notebook that would probably play both. Not at super framerates mind you,and it would be better with a Core 2 Duo, but you take what you can get...

    PCP says the truth, Farnan.
Here's a topic on laptop graphics cards
As you can see, the 6150 is very much down the ladder.
With my 7300, on a Core2Duo e5500 with 1gb Ram ( computer bought 1K€ in october), when I Run RTW with rather high settings in Huge units, I get like 5 fps when I watch the action...

    Thanks for the advice.

I have taken in account the advantages and disadvantages of a laptop (as presented here) and decided to get a new tower for my desktop. I know i can rebuild it using the case and power supply, but I am not skillful in that regard.

    Thanks again for the advice.
