    Default Help with Crash Bug at 1410 please.

    First of all, awsome mod. LTR is my favorite mod and I have been playing it since the start, great stuff guys!

    Problem:

    Ok, I'm playing the Persians (Don't want to slaughter the spelling of the proper faction name, the only ones that get elephants).

    The Year is 1410, I just got the message about Matchlocks Rifles. I just got the ability to get War Elephants. I pass the round and I CTD on Frances turn.

    I figure it's just a scripting error or something, but I'm not sure where to look to fix it.

    But god, I have been playing forever to get to 1410, and my prized Elephants of doom, so you can imagine I want it not to crash

    Lol Elephants of doom.

    Open up the game in hotseat mode. Switch to france and try and get rid of any characters with blank names.

    You can switch by openning up the console with
    ~

    and typing

    control france

    Then you end the turn.

    I could not get by the crash in 1410. I was playing as France and it always crashed at 1410 when matchlock is developed. Still dont know if anyone else can get past this?

    Nope - I couldnt, crashed at 1410 unfortunately. Restarted as Scotland.

    Thanks Torn but typing "control france" does not seem to do anything, and I still CTD

    Any other ideas?

    Had a similar bug with 2 different campaigns at about 1180. One with the "Persians" where it CTD during the end of turn and the most current one with the Syrians when it gets to the independents turn. Have not got beyond either one as of yet.

    Torn, any ideas?

    It's kinda a big deal, since I suspect everyone plays this mod to enjoy building and factional development. Meaning by the time we get to our endgame there is a bug that ruins everything.

    It must just be a scripting error trying to put a bad unit into que, but I don't know how to cross check the files or I would :/

    Any help appreciated, thanks.

    Also if anyone knows how to properly take control of a faction using the "control factionname" command, please let me know, simply typing it while in TLR hotseat does not seem to do anything for me.

    I had a couple crashes too, but I'd come back and continue campaign, and it would work.

    I usually keep a couple backup saves, sorry I can't be of more help.

    I've tried to switch to France by typing control france and ending turn ,but to no avail

    weeeeee!!! Anyone who has actually done this care to throw in more than an extremely vague reference on how its done? My game is being ruined as well after alot of time and wife nagging...

    dude, in your M2TW directory should be a The_Long_Road_Hotseat.bat
    start the game using this bat, load your saved game and then press ~ and type control england, or control slave, or whatever faction you want...then press end turn and see what it happens

    Followed those instructions... didnt work. However, I was able to start a "new" hotseat game using those instructions, just not loading a game that was started in regular mode.

    I tried to do this aswell without any luck. I have a CTD in 1295 though.
