    Default rewrite

you know with RTW, u could go into the script and rewrite stuff, like unit size, training time, unit upkeep, etc, can u do it with FA, cos i tried, and it didn't make a diference, i thought i did something wrong, but is it at all possible to rewrite it like RTW?

Scripts in FA should work as with any other mod or vanilla BI.

But generally FATW doesen't use any, because they are very fickle and unstable. What we can achieve through scripts, we strive to achieve through balance and coding. Definitely harder, but makes the game better for those who play it.

The things you describe however aren't controlled by scripts, they are controlled by the export_descr_units.txt file... And that works fine too in FATW.

LOL Then i have no clue, the EDU is working fine. Anyway, i suggert you don't rush to change anything before you see the new one...

If you still wanna change stuff, can you tell me exactly what have you been trying to do and what is your problem?

    Well if you are

    opening the correct folder (bi/ci/data)
    modifying the correct file (export_descr_unit.txt)
doing the correct thing (remove the no_custom attribute)
for the correct units (rk company, elf archer l3, etc)

and still getting no results, then I honestly don't know what to say. It should be working fine... Sorry, I can't think of anything else.

You just delete the no_custom, from their attributes... Be careful not to leave 2 commas or sth else for example this: "sea_faring, no_custom, frighten_foot" must become "sea_faring, frighten foot'.

That should be very easy to do. If you keep having trouble though, let me know.

Celtic Champion, just out of curiosity. Have you *ever* seen a mod team answering this question with anything but vague hints or plain refusal?
Anyway, you won't have to wait for long, honestly. (lol)

Aradan, he's trying to edit the DS.

ljuboja; you need to do what Aradan says in data\export_descr_units.txt.

    LOL I misread. Sorry ljuboja!

But I *am* stating above that "The things you describe however aren't controlled by scripts, they are controlled by the export_descr_units.txt file."

LOL OK, then what i said earlier applies but instead of 'ci' put 'fe'...

You do know that all the patches are targeted to a ci folder inside the BI one, right? I wouldn't advise renaming anything.

The mod is in a ci folder (bi/ci).

The 'fe' folder is the temporary folder used by the installer and which is subsequently used by the bat file in copying and moving folders and files about to correctly set up the modfolder (bi/ci).

The bat file deletes the fe folder before it exits.
