Are there any links on tips/hints/guides for RTR?

I am playing on VH/VH as Pontus. Pretty much getting ravaged by Selucid Empire every other turn. They even taunt me by offering an alliance or me to be their protectorate, to only ATTACK me as soon as I accept their treaty.

Playing in the east is certainly vastly different than playing as the Romans(Well I was playing M/H, so perhaps the massive jump in difficulty didn't help me either). Since the Selucid Empire is so vast, they attack me constantly with lots of elite infantry. Most of my infantry don't seem as strong. I have a few Pezoi and built mostly Javelineers and Archers. I have a few chariots. But they are so expensive and takes 2 turns so I barely have the turns and money to make them(since enemy attacks so frequently).

Okay I have come to the conclusion walls are USELESS.

Having a large city on the other hand is useful.

So one battle I tried my best to defend teh walls. I was able to do so killed 95% of enemy at the cost of 50% of my men.

Now I decided I didn't want to micro my archers to destroy enemy siege weapons so I just shoved everyone in the town plaza. The enemy comes they are exhausted and charge against my phanlanx. My skirmishers run out of ammo and I use them along with my 4 general units to flank enemy phanlanxes. I end up crushing them and they all rout and get slaughtered. I only killed about 60% of the enemy army BUT I only lost 11% units. And this is after the previous battle, my army is only at half strength.
