New Traits Mod
i was wondering "why dont i make new traits"...ok..let's do it..
i check the examples of the original game to understand how should i make it...i made it and now here it is the result:
-more than 100 new traits with respective description
-Royal Hierarchy--> Count of this, Duke of that etc..
-orders members--> from user of a religious order coat of arms such as:
-teutonic coat of arms porter
-templar coat of arms porter
etc
-ORDERS WAR HIERARCHY- (succesive{a general might start has an knight and finish as a Gran-Master)(not to say the higher the rank the best traits they recieve, and i can say they recieve a lot)
-templar knight
-Master of the templar Order
-Gran Master of the Templar Order
etc
now my favourite and completly new: DESCENDENCY
this means that if a general is a descedent of a general he will be influenced by it:
this are the descendecy:
-KING HAROLD
-SALADIN
-KING RICHARD THE LION HEART
-DUKE WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR
-CHARLES MAGNUM
-GENGHIS KHAN
each one with 3 types of descendency -> Direct, Adopted, Bastard ...the best the his descendecy the best bonuses he recieve..
lets say you are lucky and you have a general that recieve the trait Genghis Khan Direct descendent
he would win bonuses according to his father personality, in this case:
+2 command
+3 troop morale
+2 hitpoints
+3 authority
+6 dread
+2 command when fighting russia
+2 command when fighting poland
etc
changes from 1 week ago (you are lucky i didnt published this soon):
-Generals cant be no longer descendets of 2 or more generals
-Replaced Charles Magnum instead of erik the Red
-The descendency is no longer succesive (this means a general can start has direct descendent and finish has bastard)
-Added Piety and chivalry in all Orders New Traits
i have to finish one thing before publish...in a very few days it will available to download...
comments, suggestions, tips welcome see messange below
im open to suggestions send me a private messange saying new generals descedency and why should i add him...

Re: New Traits Mod
* There are already various mods that introduce titles, both kingdom-based and province-based. You should take a look. For the latter, there's a lot of coding (although it's fairly simple) because you need at least one trait/trigger for each province (more if you want different titles for Muslims).
* To some extent, the game already allows children to inherit traits from their fathers and, by extension, grandfathers. If you want to intensify this, either increase the chances OR introduce new lines tied to "fathertrait =". This is fairly straightforward. Lots of traits already depend on the father's traits.
* For crusading orders, just add trait/trigger so that the presence of a guild building gives some chance of any character becoming a member.

Re: New Traits Mod
Ancillaries are limited. No way to limit the number of traits. The only way to reduce the number of actual traits displayed is to lower the variety of traits and/or chance of acquiring them.
I tend to agree that fewer traits are better. I have introduced new traits into my code, but when I come up with a trait idea I always ask myself, is there already a trait that can serve the same function? How many people would really have this trait, and do the acquisition chances reflect this?
For contradictory traits, the solution is to have your anti-traits set up properly. Say you have a highly bellicose character. Any event that makes them peaceful should make them less warlike first. You shouldn't have one trait showing that they're warlike and another showing them mild as a dove.
