Default CTD - Summer 422 AD

Been playing every day for over 4 hours each and no problems but today when trying to end turn on Summer 422 AD, the game CTD. I've re-started 5 times with the same effect. I activate the end-of-turn button and the screen scrolls around following the various factions and - then - CTD.

I NEED my fix of IBFD!

Can anyone help me - please bear in mind that I am hopelessly computer illiterate (I can't even install EB on my back-up Vanilla RTW, I am that dumb - only the gods know how I got IBFD installed but the installer just seemed to do it for me!).

IBFD is installed on clean properly updated RTW and BI versions to 1.6 and has been playing fione since Monday.

can you tell w/c faction causes the CTD?
    are there any error messages?
    do you have scripts installed?

Yes, scripts installed (do you mean activating the advisor button when clicking on a city? If so, yes).

    No errors message.

It had seemed to be the Orientalis Romanoi but I just tested it now and it was the Hepthalites (sp?).

Any help would be vastly appreciated as I really love this mod and am addicted to it. And again, I must point out my idiocy regarding PCs and really do appreciate you all taking the time to a) make the mod and b) help me out on this!

    can you try these things:

    1) backup a savegame. go to ibfd/saves folder nd just copy the latest save games better if you have one a bit earlier than the previous move.

    2) restart the saved game make different moves from the one you did previously, sometimes these triggers different theing or causes a faulty 'something' not to be triggered.

    3) if that fails load an earlier sae game if u have and just try to see if u can go over 422AD with that

    4) if that still fails, install 'safe scripts' option. then restart a saved game. this will remove several scripts w/c may be causing the CTD.

    5) if '4' still fails install the 'no scripts' option. this will remove all the scripts.

note u can reenable te scripts again later if u get past 422AD but may have strange results

Thanks - will try those options (bit wary of doing things but will try). Just spent 3 hours playing without toggling the script button and it was fine. Now at full war with the damn Eastern Romans but it's fun. Perhaps it's time to unite the two halves again and resurrect Imperial Rome . . .

Will update tomorrow evening after work - and thanks for the input - appreciate it!

Well, found only full-scripts or no-scripts option in the file so have been playing with no-scripts activated for the last 3 turns. No problems. Will have dinner and then re-activate scripts to see what happens! Tried different moves - no joy.

Just glad I can carry on playing (but shame I have lost the scripting so far) - let's hope it will work again

There is supposed to be a 'minimal scripts' option but would only be really relevant in bringing the Visigoths to Southern france so without scripts at this stage, the most you would probably be missing is the 4tpy script
