How do I recruit the governer building units?

I am playing as Pontus and it says I can recruit Persian Archers, some Persian horse unit and Persian phanlanx.

But I can't recruit them. Can I even recruit them at all? If so, what are the requirements?


I really need some of those Persian Phanlanx units.

Okay nevermind I didn't realize Pezoi were phanlanx units. i guess its time to make some of those.

The units listed under the governor buildings are only available to the slave/rebel faction and are what it can build if it happens to control the city.

damn that stinks. I see selucid empire fielding lots of phanlanx pikemen. I guess that's a unit of theirs.

I am getting hammered by Selucid empire constantly. I was doing okay with 2 cities, but now that I expanded to four cities I can't defend them all. Perhaps I should revert to an earlier save file and just give up teh cities to rebels and use them as buffer zones.
