    I'm still alive. Pardon my absence from the boards - not as prolific as I have been!

    Work's been keeping me busy lately during the day. And at night, I'm busy working on the new factions. Takes up a lot of time, as I'm new to Photoshop and skinning/modelling! But I'm getting the hang of it slowly but surely!

    I might even post some screens sometime this week of the next new faction!!

    Thanks again to everyone who's posted and keeping discussion going! Really appreciate it. I read all the posts even if I don't get a chance to post a reply right away!

    And special thanks to gigantus for taking the time to post regular updates! Much appreciated! And thanks to VirusITA for taking the time to adapting a BIgMap version of PDER.

    Open the EDB and search for 'barracks italy'. There you will see that the pope can recruit all the units the other factions in Italy can. In fact the 'papal guard' is a surplus for the pope.

    Hello, don't know if this has turned up yet...at least a quick search didn't show anything.
    Just started a new v0.4 campaign playing Sicily and the Governor of Messina (Jordan) doesn't show up in in my family tree.
    I can send a screenshot if you like but didn't want to spam the thread...

    ...aaaand I just CTD'd in 1093, after clicking on a Scottish fleet on the campaign map. (0.4 Patch installed)

    Jordan de Hauteville was the eldest bastard son of Roger. That's why he's not in the family tree. I believe Jordan was made count of Syracuse, but Syracuse isn't in PDER, so Messina will have to do!

    Are you by any chance playing a non-English version? Those types of CTD's are usually caused by compatability problems with non-English versions.

    Try gigantus' Sound and Movie Fix. It's also included in his AOR Update 1.7. Either should clear up these problems.

    Well, I played for 30 more turns dodging the CTDs about 5-7 times. Then they suddenly disappeared. I was very pleased until it came back with a bang. My crusader armies were surrounded by stacks of Egyptians and finally they decided to attack. I won a heroic victory while losing few men and killing thousands of them. I got a CTD at the end of the turn .

    So what do I need to do exactly to fix this ?

    Sorry about that! I think the problem is with the BigMap descr_strat file. If I get the chance I'll post a corrected version tonight. But I'm quite busy adding some of the Kingdoms units to PDER's recruitment so if not tonight, definitely tomorrow.

    The mounted askari/sipahi have the grey militia icon not the dismounted askari, they seem ok.

    Apart from this no problems though I had trouble with installing the PRED patch .I had to do it manually in the end.

    Hi Socal! I have two bugs that I found during my English campaign.

    1) The English family members should have the last name de Normandie.

    2) When my king died and another assumed power something went really wrong. My new king is of Scottish Blood and so when I went to look at the family tree, only the first two people of the Scottish family tree were there. Idk how this happened but it should be fixed soon. If you need a screenshot I can post one.

    I hope to see v0.5 released soon!

    1] Yeah, that makes sense.

    2] Weird. I'll take a look at this, but it might be a vanilla bug.

    PDER v0.5 will actually probably be v1.0 (finally)! At this point, I'm just waiting for my new map to proceed any further. And I still have work to do with adding the new factions.

    I just started this mod after trying various others and I think it s great. I havn t read all the threads but playing my favourite Turks I see the same icon is used for spear /town militia and askaris which gets a bit confusing.
    Also I get about 4 generals rebelling at once...bit much even for those cunning pashas.
    I installed the patch and the AAR add on...have I missed something ?

    Yeah, you have to watch out for the rebellious generals in PDER! Although, if it seems too much, let me know and I'll look into it.

    There's always the optional Sky and Blood mod or the Early generals mod, but if you're playing the Turks you don't really need that one as it's just for the Western factions.

    Yes I understand about the generals but I m worried I havn t installed this correctly as everything seems fine except that damn militia icon which is being used for the Turk spear/local militia but also for the askaris and sipahis (just got a couple of them ).
    I thought I d installed the patch and AoR add on ok. I can play the mod but have to keep pausing to work out which icon is militia or the 2 cavalry types.

    indeed, he is! i experienced the same errors (missing tooltips, laging byzantine,...) aswell (well I have bought the original game though)
