Icon7 Excellent mod! just a few adjustments if I may...

    Hello there Invasio Barbarorum Team,

just stumbled across ur mod and was fascinated - finally a mod focusing on the Migration Period! really great job!!

I have a few suggestions for the different Germnanic factions if I may, since I am quite knowledgeable on this subject :

I will focus on he Germanics since they are one of the most importand factions for the history of Europe during the Migration Period.

if u made it possible to recruit regional units, it would increase the gameplay and realism a lot (f.e. playing as any Germanic faction making other Germanic troops also available when a special region or settlement is conquered - f.e. there are many east Germanic units, which can be recruited by the Huns, but in case a Germanic tribe conquers f.e. the Quadi why not making their troops also available? would be realistic, wouldn't it?)

it also would be better, if the huns are only able to recruit Germanic tropps in case they hold the necessary Germanic lands

the vandal generals look like huns, but are East-Germanics originally, so it was great, if u gave them the usual Barbarian/Germanic look instead of the Nomad/Hunic one

some Germanic veterans like the Gothic Veterans have the halfmoon as shield symbol which isn't historic at all for Germanics, another shield design was great and more historic

I also noticed that the HeruljaHarjaz have got a too large shield. the design of it is great but a shield that big isn't possible to be carried on horseback, so if u'd made the shield a little bit smaller, it would fit much better

the burgundiske Akuskampjaz have got a frankish unit description and their haircolour could be more fair in my opnion, since black hairs were extrmely rare amongst ancient Germanics (brown would be better ) and therefore this haircolour doesn't make much sense as the hair clour of a whole unit. (nothing against black hairs - my girl friend has got black hairs! )

will it be possible in the next releases to build larger towns as "barbarian"?
I noticed that many of the high end Germanic units can't be built since u cannot upgrade a town beyond level 3.

many Roman troops wear Norman style helmets (the ones with the nose protection) which isn't historic as far as I know, allthough I am no expert on Romans.

last I've noticed that rebel Cnihtes don't have a large unit card picture, they are displayed as peasants

In case u would like to have my help with some Germanic unit or building descriptions or a little bit of historic research, I could provide u those via pm easily, since I am history student at University and proofed to do be capable of doing a good job on another mod. (this is no joining request, just offering a little bit of help via pm)

it would be great in case u considered some of these suggestions

    tell us everything you know.

    ---------

as you said, this is a migration period. we cannot really make a regional recruitment of germanic units if germans are moving across europe. What vandals should do in Africa? about huns, they used a "forced confederation", and they make essentially nomads the people that were with them. for instance, where we should give a regianal ostrogothic zone of recruitment?
on the other hand, i'm the first that dislike a barbarian recruiting in a roman zone because is senseless.

    -----------------

many Roman troops wear Norman style helmets (the ones with the nose protection) which isn't historic as far as I know, allthough I am no expert on Romans.
    i see
the Ridge Helmet from Deurne and the Bersakovo helmet shows that the "intercisa" type was quite common and nose protection a normal feature of late roman helmets. Normans just came later and used them

ok, good. in the next week you should receive some PM - expect some question about upgrading barbarian towns...

about your notes, don't mind, we will do all the possible.

we've been around for more than a year

    always welcome

if u made it possible to recruit regional units, it would increase the gameplay and realism a lot (f.e. playing as any Germanic faction making other Germanic troops also available when a special region or settlement is conquered - f.e. there are many east Germanic units, which can be recruited by the Huns, but in case a Germanic tribe conquers f.e. the Quadi why not making their troops also available? would be realistic, wouldn't it?)
I have been thinking of this, and would want to implement it for next major version. Swabain has also been suggesting something like this I would appreciate your help on this matter.
I have also excluded the ermans from the auxilia system but am really considering it again...

it also would be better, if the huns are only able to recruit Germanic tropps in case they hold the necessary Germanic lands
it should be this way, if there are some dscrepancies pls inform me will correct it

the vandal generals look like huns, but are East-Germanics originally, so it was great, if u gave them the usual Barbarian/Germanic look instead of the Nomad/Hunic one
only picture of a vandal and labelled a vandal has this helm. The Franks and the Langobardi also used this helm so I do not really see why the Vandals shouldn't. am atually thinking of a more Romanized look for the Vandal general since they were mostly foedrati anyway.

some Germanic veterans like the Gothic Veterans have the halfmoon as shield symbol which isn't historic at all for Germanics, another shield design was great and more historic
    would welcme suggestions here

I also noticed that the HeruljaHarjaz have got a too large shield. the design of it is great but a shield that big isn't possible to be carried on horseback, so if u'd made the shield a little bit smaller, it would fit much better
there hasbeen suggestions along this line and wold probably be implemented

the burgundiske Akuskampjaz have got a frankish unit description and their haircolour could be more fair in my opnion, since black hairs were extrmely rare amongst ancient Germanics (brown would be better ) and therefore this haircolour doesn't make much sense as the hair clour of a whole unit. true to both

made it this way to emulate the lesser technological ability of 'barbarian' tribes, I am sure you would agree with me when I say they were certainl not as barbaric as modern fantasy wuld portray them but at the same time their technological sophistication is humbler than the Romans and they copied stuff from the Romans. This estriction on their part is a way t emulate the improved technologica cpability upon contact with the Romans (by conquering their territories)

many Roman troops wear Norman style helmets (the ones with the nose protection) which isn't historic as far as I know, allthough I am no expert on Romans.
I think Mylae answered that one

last I've noticed that rebel Cnihtes don't have a large unit card picture, they are displayed as peasants
    thanks for reporting this

I certainly would appreciate help on the Germans

it would be great in case u considered some of these suggestions
