Roman Auxilia ?
Do you get to recruit other roman infantry units after Marian Reforms or just those Legionaries that you can get in custom battle ??

Re: Roman Auxilia ?
The whole point of the Marius reforms was the standardization of the army, so yes, thats all you get in Italy. You can also recruit Syrian Archers in the east after the reforms though.

Re: Roman Auxilia ?
My knowledge of Rome isn't quite so great...but I was under the impression that asides from allied units that counted as auxlia, Rome itself also had lesser trained units that qualified as auxlia, ie standardized non-citizen troops. Does RTR have anything like this?

Re: Roman Auxilia ?
Its called the AOR (area of recruitment) system. When you conquer other lands, you can recruit native units to use as auxillaries (ie. Gallic Cavalry, Greek Hoplites, Syrian Archers etc.). Its actually the main feature of the mod.

Re: Roman Auxilia ?
There are no "Augustan" Auxilia (non-citizens using standardised arms and armour) in RTR as they did not appear until the 1st century AD.
In RTR you can recruit Auxilia (allies fighting in native form) through the AOR.
