Play a custom battle with the graphic options turned down on a good spec PC.

Ive had over 30,000 but it was laggy at first. Got faster as the enemy were killed.

Turning down your graphics options is the only way to improve performance I know of.

thx i some how did that and fought a battle of 6,000. my normal amount is 2,400. thank goodness

You could also upgrade your graphics card.

Graphics card doesn't really affect RTW performence. All you need is a medicore GPU at best. CPU and Ram will affect performence greatly.
