Default Scenes in movies that really disturbed you.

What are scenes that have been put in movies that disturbed you in your core? Not merely scary or sad, but ones that are just plain disturbing.

The two that immediately come to mind are these:

From Road to Perdition: When the son of the mob boss kills the main character's wife and young son. That just disturbed me to see a 6 year old, completely innocent just gunned down. Whats worse is that less than a minute ago that kid was just playing with his mom and there was no sign of danger.

From Taps: When the main character's best friend goes insane at the end and shoots at the National Guard troops with the .50 cal. Just seeing that insanity disturbed and scared me.
“The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards.”

The Zombie Baby scene in the inferior remake of Dawn of the Dead (missus was preggers at the time)

The little Girl getting shot in Assault on Precinct 13

and the end of A Bridge too far. Haunting and thought provoking

True for me also, although I must say I have seen many images of reality on the internet which have disturbed me.

I have seen such images, and even movies, on sites like ogrish.com, but that didn't disturb me either. People say I'm very cold-hearted and indifferent that way, and I guess they're right.

Basically every scene in Requiem for a Dream disturbed me, especially the montage at the end with everyone curling up into fetal positions.

The "curb stomp" scene in "American History X".
Also, I'd have to agree with The Fish about "Requiem for a Dream". Amazing film, but seriously messed up as well.

That kinda grossed me out, mostly because i didnt know what the hell they did to her, it king of looked like they did some freak experiments on her causing her arms to become huge.

Did they actually do ******* like that ?

The Last House on the Left:

Several very disturbing scenes here, but the rape/tortue/death of the girl out in the forest stands out to me. The film was made on such a low budget, and at sometimes feels like you're watching a documentary, which makes it very disturbing in my opinion.

The Hills Have Eyes: (Both versions)

The trailer scene, when Lizard and Pluto murder the mother and Lizard brestfeeds off the daughter at gun point, shoots her, then steals her infant child. (In the original Lizard says" I can smell that baby". <-- Fn' creepy. indicating they are going to eat the baby.)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: (The ORIGINAL, not the crap remake stuff.)

The scene where they pick up the hitchhiker, who proceeds to pull out a pocket knife and cut himself up while giggling. The mood in the van turns very bad, very fast.

Also, the Leatherface character in general is very sad and disturbing. The way he changes masks depending on his household duties. (If you notice, he goes into the bedroom before the dinner scene and dons a woman's face, then tries to "fix" himself up before serving dinner.)

Plus, the whole reason the kids go up there was to visit their Grandfathers old house where they have fond memories as children. The very act of turning precious childhood memories into a full blown nightmare is horror defined.

Also has that "documentary" feel to it.

    Caligula:

Lots of bizarre and disturbing stuff here as well. A couple notable scenes come to mind. Tiberius's "little fishies" is the ultimate in creep out, and his palace on Capri is filled with hideous, deformed and abused people. Also theres a scene where Caligula orders a man's umm...member, to be cut off. Of course they actually show it, and it looks too damn realistic for me to watch, I turn my head on this scene hehe.

    The Devil's Rejects:

The Motel scene. Here you can really see the influence of "Last House on the Left", RZ has stated that's it's one of his favorite horror films, and you can definatley tell by watching this scene. Basically Otis and Baby hold Banjo & Sullivan and company hostage. Otis makes Roy watch as he molestes his wife at gun point. Baby sits in the corner mocking them as he does it.

Bill Moseley, the actor who played Otis was so disturbed and freaked out shooting that scene, he had to ask RZ to stop a while. RZ told him "Sometimes art is painful". Thought that was a cool way to look at it. That scene was supposed to be disturbing, and it was. Even Sherry Moon Zombie was very unfomfortable after so many takes.

    Freaks:

Toward the end, when they are coming toward the woman while singing that "Gooble gobble, gooble gobble, we accept her, we accept her, one of us, one of us!" song. Creeps me the hell out.

The whole damn film is disturbing to me, it's just not...right. The fact that the cast are real oddities and freakshow workers is what does it I guess.

And watched the grisly pilgrims go that walk the roads of Death,

Why? That's like saying Modern art isnt art just because you personally dont like it. It doesnt matter, it's still art, all film is a form of artistic expression. And just for the record I hate modern art, but like I said, that doesnt mean it's not art.

The "castration" scene in Hard Candy.
And After I'd seen it I found a website where they sell red sweaters like the girl used.

If I see anyone wearing one of those, I don't know what I'll do.

The things that still disturbs me the most in movie is in Alien, when Dallas is in the airducts and then the alien just appears. But later in the directors cut, hes stuck to the wall in that alien secretion stuff. That just freaked me out.

I'd have to say the sex scenes in Species were very disturbing for me (why? if you watch it you'd know . . . bleh . . . worst porno ever! lol)

And that scene in Seed of Chucky where Chucky's son "accidentally" spills sulfuric acid on that one guy's face.

Other than that, gore, blood and violence don't really bother me, it's just sadistic crap like that.
