Question about military priority

Please answer this.

I made an alliance with the Scots (Playing as Irish with DLV) and when using diplomacy, it has military next to priority, and when I look at it, it says that is what the faction wants from me.

I was able to get the Scots and English to go to war (some strings attached

) and I WOULD like to give them some military stuff to keep their little war fueled. So the question is:

If they want military things from me, as I guess, then how do I give it to them?

The only thing I can guess is military access (already given) or money.

Any answers?

Supplying them with money is about all you can do. The only other option is to build your own expeditionary army to follow them around and help them in battle when the opportunity arises. Sometimes, if an ally is too weak, I'll also capture enemy cities and gift them to my ally. Unfortunately, (the way diplomacy works in this game) when you do this too often and they are a.) a neighbor and b.) growing as strong as you are, they tend to break their alliance. You'll have to figure out a balance between supplying them and keeping them as an ally.

I guess I'll do this:

give them 100,000.

Then, when too strong, use:
add_money scotland, -100000

It had always been my experience that when it said military next to what they want from you it meant war. Every time that was in that column er w.e they would never Ally with me, or ally and betray me soon after. So maybe you should not fund them. If it says trade or Peace / Ceasefire thats when I think you can be safe, of course I can't really back up this claim with much zeal T_T

Peace - they desire ceasefire/alliance with your faction
War - the name says it all
Trade - they want trade rights
Military - they want military access or assistance against one of their enemy (usually their enemy is neutral with you)
Ex: I had an alliance with the HRE and Milan, they were at war with France which I was neutral. I started negotiations with Milan and offered them military access (they accepted), after that I offered them map information (they made a counter proposal and requested me to attack faction France for 1700+ florinns).

Since you already have military access, you should supply them with some spare money and send a capable army to the frontline to aid them in sieges and battles.
But as others have pointed out, you must tread carefully lest they will grow strong enough to question the need for an ally at all - in which case you will stand there with two enemies and no allies.

So don´t help them too much.
If you have, say, 25 632 florins, then gift them the extra 632 (or 5 632 if you think you can spare that much and wish to improve you relations)
And if there´s a battle, do not get involved too much, but let your ally handle most of the frontline fighting while your men move around on the edge of the battle - supporting them by outflanking enemies or distracting enemy units by missile attacks from the periphery.
