I've been a member of TWC since around January of this year. In the beginning, it was primarily to download mods. This eventually led to my own desire to mod myself. I then began to lurk in the mod workshop and various Hosted Mod forums for ideas and modding assistance.
Tornnight and Lusted were particularly helpful members of this site. Lusted for his willingness to answer questions in a timely manner and overall modding knowledge and Tornnight for his seemingly 24-hour customer support.
I then began work on my own mod, Pro Deo et Rege. Through the course of developing it, I came upon and researched problems with names for the widely-used Character Names Project. Through extensive testing, I determined that Portuguese names and other incorrectly formatted names caused crashes when traits triggers occured. I then assisted finneys13 with formatting the incorrectly formatted names for the CNP and acted as a beta-tester for the Project.
Since then, I have assisted other fledgling modders with words of encouragement and support. (See
here Here and elsewhere). I have spent a significant amount of time answering various questions in the Mod Workshop thread. Additionally, I have assisted new modders with specific questions via PM, as well as creating new units [dismounted gothic knights with sword and shield] for new members of this forum upon request.
I have provided 'round the clock support for my since-released mod, Pro Deo et Rege. I have re-created and re-uploaded a full installer version of my mod for Oldgamer upon hearing that his install of my mod Pro Deo et Rege was not functioning correctly. I have also released new sprites to the public for the widely used WhiteWolf Byzantine textures in the course of developing my own mod.
Also, I plan on sticking around this site and sharing as much modding knowledge as I have to new modders as I was once in their position and understand what it was once like to be a new modder.
