Someone's been a bit busy lately...

Socal's key trait is his dedication to helping others mod. He can be found at any given time of the day wandering through the hosted mods forums reporting on issues he has tested for various mods, or helping new members in the mod workshop solve an issue he has dealt with before. He has shown consistency in his friendly, approachable and genuinely concerned posting manners, making him another "modder's best friend". He seems to have picked up on this helpfulness of others at TWC, and has since tried to pay back the community in kind. It is good to see that this sort of forum etiquette is rubbing off on newer members, and I feel we should encourage those who have picked up on it in order to foster an outstanding atmosphere for modders of all stripes. I myself have been grateful for the few -- but important -- ideas that Socal has left on the CNP forum. Inevitably, this sort of activity has led to him trying his hand at his own mod, "Pro Deo et Rege", for which is has just been granted his own forum. For his helpfulness in the modding forums and good conduct as a TWC member, I'd like to propose that the CdeC encourage this up-and-coming modder by granting him citizenship.

    Sincerely, dR

I've been a member of TWC since around January of this year. In the beginning, it was primarily to download mods. This eventually led to my own desire to mod myself. I then began to lurk in the mod workshop and various Hosted Mod forums for ideas and modding assistance.

Tornnight and Lusted were particularly helpful members of this site. Lusted for his willingness to answer questions in a timely manner and overall modding knowledge and Tornnight for his seemingly 24-hour customer support.

I then began work on my own mod, Pro Deo et Rege. Through the course of developing it, I came upon and researched problems with names for the widely-used Character Names Project. Through extensive testing, I determined that Portuguese names and other incorrectly formatted names caused crashes when traits triggers occured. I then assisted finneys13 with formatting the incorrectly formatted names for the CNP and acted as a beta-tester for the Project.

Since then, I have assisted other fledgling modders with words of encouragement and support. (See here Here and elsewhere). I have spent a significant amount of time answering various questions in the Mod Workshop thread. Additionally, I have assisted new modders with specific questions via PM, as well as creating new units [dismounted gothic knights with sword and shield] for new members of this forum upon request.

I have provided 'round the clock support for my since-released mod, Pro Deo et Rege. I have re-created and re-uploaded a full installer version of my mod for Oldgamer upon hearing that his install of my mod Pro Deo et Rege was not functioning correctly. I have also released new sprites to the public for the widely used WhiteWolf Byzantine textures in the course of developing my own mod.

Also, I plan on sticking around this site and sharing as much modding knowledge as I have to new modders as I was once in their position and understand what it was once like to be a new modder.
    Spotless Record.
