Default Elitist and proud of it

You know what? I think I have become an elitist. I absolutely refuse to watch mainstream American news anymore. With all the stuff going around in the world, I'm sick and tired of watching the same stories about a celebrity going to jail or some waterskiing squirrel.

I'm sick of America's "football politics" where both sides treat every single issue like it's a battle over a way of life. I still vote, but I don't care about American politics anymore. I think it has become the realm for people who don't have anything better to do.

I think American popular culture is a joke. I love baseball, and I enjoy the vulgar humor in Avenue Q and South Park, but I enjoy high culture as well. Americans have just put way too much emphasis on pop culture. I don't care if Bradjelina has split up!

Which brings me to my next point; I am absolutely disgusted at the anti-intellectualism in America. Although I can't say for certain, I have reason to believe that this new trend partly resulted from our leaders trying too hard to become more "folksy." Teddy Roosevelt won a Nobel prize and wrote a naval history book that is STILL used as a reliable source today. Kennedy won a Pulitzer. Jefferson could speak a number of languages and knew poetry. Now, idiots all across the country have an orgasm when they see the president in a flight suit.

    I think I'll emigrate.

I couldn't agree more with the OP. Please pull up a chair and join the no-sheep allowed party. Your seat has been reserved for quite sometime.

British women aren't as famous for their beauty as Swedish women are. If such reputations still exist, that is.

I've opened door for her in 7/11 shop around two months before ,she weights less in real life and goes in civil clothes - eventually most people don't recognize her in jeanses at once .

I took her to a supermarket
I don't know why I guess I had to start it somewhere
    so it started there.
I said pretend you've got no money, she just laughed and said oh you're so funny. I said yeah?
Well I can't see anyone else smiling in here.

Are you sure you want to live like common people
You want to see whatever common people see
You want to sleep with common people,
you want to sleep with common people like me.
But she didn't understand, she just smiled and held my hand.

Rent a flat above a shop, cut your hair and get a job.

    Thanks signor dude.

It sometimes seems to me that the world outside of Europe thought that GB was the only monarchy left in Europe. But with hotties like H.R.H Princess Madeleine, Duchess of Gestricia, we will make our voices heard.

I don't think Kesley Grammar will agree to another series of Frasier.

if you look in the right places, there is actually high class culture here. but admittedly, you have to search hard.
