Best Beginner Faction

I'm a newbie at this game and I waz wonderin what everybody thought the best faction to starts with is, as long as it is not babylon.


I also wanted to know what you thought the most fun faction is.

Well, the Greek factions are quite fun and easy to start with, especially Taras, which gets all of Italy to itself in the beginning. Alternatively, Magadha gets a peaceful time at the start, and has a very interesting unit roster indeed. You'll want to stay away from Persia, Babylon, Lydia, Egypt or Ionia though - they all get wars on their hands very quickly.

Someone needs to do a Magadha AAR. I'm interested in seeing how they turned out, and as I no longer have a computer capable of playing RTW, I need to play vicariously through one of ya'll.
