1408 Movie

Gotta say the movie was surprisingly and pretty well done, with all the nonsense that passes for horror now a days with excessive gore/violence it was a bit refreshing. Based on Stephen King short story which in itself was really good, the movie definitely worth seeing. Cusack does a pretty nifty job as a man slowly being undone, ending is a bit cheesy but the rest of the movie makes it worth it. One of the better King stories to make it to film, its not The Shining or Misery (and certainly Shawshank or Green Mile but those are different story) but still pretty good.

The hell are you people ignoring him for?

I just saw it last night and I thought it was amazingly well done. Horror films might actually be taking a turn for the better, FINALLY.

So... When are you going to tell us what it's about?

I'm Guessing it's about medieval times, my brother has the movie,[or had it] so I'll sneak in his room when he's not home and find out......

It's about a paranormal hunter who doesn't believe in paranormals. He goes around the country looking for paranormal activity, but everywhere he goes, it's usually just a scam to increase tourism.

But he eventually gets an offer to stay at a hotel (in room 1408) where people never survive a night in that room. The paranormal hunter is still skeptical until he finally steps foot into that room.

Anyway, the idea of the movie is good, but in my opinion, the execution of the movie is ridiculous/laughable. I'd say the first 15 minutes is good until you realize that there won't be any good scares. Obviously, that's just my view - other people here seem to like it.

I thought the first hour or so was fantastic, but then it just seemed to drag on and lost its scaryness completely.
