Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecific error and has to exit

DLV is the only mod i have downloaded, i installed patch 1.2 1st then the 3.1 mod then the enchancer. When i click on the icon to load the game it comes up with an error message saying " Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecific error and has to exit preventing me from playing.

There's a log file in the root installation directory that will contain more details on the error. I encountered "unspecified error" when upgrading from 1.01 to 1.02 . I suspect certain files aren't installed correctly in the update program, ultimately I had to uninstall MTW2 and reinstall to version 1.0, then I installed the 1.02 patch followed by DLV 3.1. Everything worked fine after that.
