    Icon5 Some SPQR's Questions

    Hi Everyone

I'm new in this Mod, It's the first time I play a Mod for RTW, I Think this mod it's very very good, I had great times playing the original but this is fantastic
    Congratulations LT_1956.

I've been reading some posts here and some of my questions have been answered, But others Don't, I hope you could answer some. I'm playing the romans.

--How can I make an Alliance with the others Faction? It doesn't show me that option in diplomacy, Is it disabled in the Mod? What are the conditions in the game? Some suggestions you could give me?
--Is there any difference between a day fight and a night fight? (Of couse besides the light)
--Is there a mistake or why the game creates a rebel navy boat in lakes or spaces of water (I don't know how to name them), because there is no port there so I can't destroy them.
--Why the senate continues to send me missions to block or to take settlements of factions that I'm not in war with. Shouldn't be giving me missions with factions at War .(I know this is not exclusive for this mod, but this is something that I was wondering about) :hm:

I apologyse for my gramar, it's because i'm not a native english speaker (It's my second lenguage).

Thank's I hope you could help me.

Hello AlbertIT, welcome to the mod.

    To answer your questions:

    - It seems to have been disabled. The only way to get an alliance is through protectorates.

    - In a night fight, ranged units are not as effective. Their range and accuracy is decreased in the failing light.

    - I think its just the game. When I played vanilla RTW, I had to deal with rebel fleets turning up in lakes with no ports. I wouldn't worry about it.

    - Think of the Senate as a separate entity with it's own goals. It will make war and peace whenever it wants to with whoever it wants to. The bad thing is sometimes you have to change your priorities just so you don't lose favor with the Senate and risk your faction leader being ordered to commit suicide.

    Hope this helps, welcome again.

Thanks GaussSoldier, Your answer has helped me. Maybe my question was basic to players with more experience in the mod, but for new players like me it is useful, which makes me wonder, is there any guide or manual, with this kind of stuff about the mod? if anyone knows please let me know.

    Anyway, Thanks Again

I know I didnt disable alliances so I have no idea why they arent working for you. Maybe its just the AI doesnt want it?

I have had them offer alliances alot and the option was available for me. You have to FIRST have TRADE RIGHTS before the aliance option is visible but that is in the Vanilla RTW also.

Boats in the Lakes cant be helped its an engine issue. I didnt make the map.

there is the alliance option in diplomacy but the AI always says

"an alliance would not be a good thing now"

    or something like

"we don't believe in your false gods and philosophies"

You cannot ask for an alliance with any faction that is already allied with one of your enemies, like wise u cannot ask an faction to attack one of their allies. If u really want to ally with a nation, u must do it fast in the campaign, before you attack an ally of theirs, or before they ally with an emeny of yours. I believe at start of all campaigns u are allied to some1 [havnt played all campaigns so i dont know for sure], therefore that limmits who u can really ally with later, the only way to be able to ally with any1 would mean a restart of campaign settings, and make sure there are no allies for any nation at start. ie edit the strat file.

lol that is bad as it makes the AI act funny, I know I set the alliances. ;-)

Too bad that Alexander feature isnt in 1.5. It would have been nice to have the AI be friends all the time.

    I have a minor question.

When you open the town/provinces scroll, and left-click on a city in the list, shouldn't the screen center on the selected city on the right side?

I an unmoded copy of Rome and it centers on the city when selected. Its a minor thing and I wanted to know if its an option in the preferences or something.

    thanks.
