    Default Tacticalwithdrawal for Divus

This is not personal favouritism... I have done enough of that for tac. I was already a strategos when I put his name forward to serve on staff... he shot up through the ranks and was an admin long before me. Throughout his time in staff, his fight for the just and balanced was never ceasing.... blah blah blah but true.

I want to start a discussion, myself favouring the position that we elect Tactical withdrawal as our Divus for balance and compromise.

I dont doubt his contribution to the site is worthy of Divus.... someone who is good at listing contributions help me out here....

    He meets the necessary criteria..

This may get me lynched but I will say it anyway:

There are already 6 divus's - if every admin who has made a significant conrtibution to the site is made a divus then the rank will lose its worth - Perhaps a rank should be made for retired admins to use instead of Senatori - but the Divus rank cannot be given out easily - how many attempts did it take tbp to get it?

I dont doubt that Tac has made a enormous contribrution to the site but so has Garb, belisarius, asterix, justinian and others - if tac is given the rank of divus it is likely that they too will recive the rank and it will lose its meaning.

    ...WBK.... etc etc etc

This is a tricky debate, my personall judgement is that many who dont have it are just as worthy of it. But these comparisons are completely subjective, only that some of us are primary sources others are shaped by primary sources....

Let s discuss this... we have medals, but I still think that Tac is Divus material... it took tBP time yes, but that is the tBP case... he fought for it, others wont fight for it because they want to be evaluated themselves... I am fighting for the honour of Tac as Divus

Being put up for consideration is the easy part, getting accepted is the hard part. Tac has done a lot (well, as much as he could under the circumstances) but much of it is behind the scenes.

I think it is best for him to outline his achievements. Personally, I think he has been a highly influential Admin and would support him without any hesitation. Ideally this should have been opened in the CDC first... I'll let the Curator deal with this.

Quite honestly, I was surprised when I saw this. If someone can outline his contribution, perhaps I'll support this. I really don't know what he's actually done to deserve this.

Nothing personal against Tac, perhaps I just wasn't active at the right times.

With no offense intended to Tacticalwithdrawal, I can think of nothing he has done that merits the rank of Divus. His actions as admin were exactly those that admins routinely make and are, in fact, required to make as part of their job. Nothing makes him stand out to me at all, other than the mere fact that he was an admin.

    folks,

while I am truly honoured to be put up for this, my public work has, as Sim says, been no more than an admin should have done (the only 'extra' was getting the Scriptorium up and running and that was something TWC was crying out for).

As imb says, a lot of what I did as an admin was behind the scenes and should remain behind the scenes. I have never been particularly interested in contributing to the 'drama' of TWC, nor am I interested in raking up the conversations and actions that occured during what was not the best of times for the site (believe me, it's not nearly as interesting as some people makeout, more sad really)

Those who know what I did know what I did, some dislike me for it, some love me for it, 99% of the membership haven't a clue, even those that do are often misinformed or only had a particular view on it - probably only one person has a reasonably full view and that only 'cos he nearly missed his train talking long into the night in Chinatown

But that is how it should be

Suffice it to say that TWC is now where I fought long and hard for it to be, under the control of a benign leader who understands how its dynamics work, and with very little (if any) politics in Hex.

So, many thanks for the honour but no thanks, Divus should be for people like Lusted - lets keep it like that.

A person cannot be nominated in the Curia for the rank of Divus

Any Citizens can nominate a former Council Officer and does so by PMing a Consilium de Civitates member. The Consilium de Civitates will contact the nominee and ask if he or she will accept the nomination. If the nominee should decline, or fails to respond within one month, no further action need be taken and the nomination declared null and void.
A curial debate cannot occur until a member has received three fourths support of the CdeC.

Should the nominee receive the support of three fourths of non abstaining Consilium de Civitates members, the Curator shall create a discussion in the Prothalamos lasting at least three days and then move the nomination to vote as per the procedure in Section 2 Article 3.
This thread is therefore closed pending a discussion and vote by the CdeC.

I would consider this thread an official nomination and start the thread and vote in the CdeC except that it appears the candidate does not wish to accept the nomination.

    *closed*
If you would like to turn this into a thread generally praising tac, if Asterix would like to PM me, and i'll cheerfully move it to the Symposium for you.
