Free program to open .rar files (newb quesstion alert)

I agree with wipeout140 , 7 zip, not as user friendly as WinRAR, but it's really free, no popups with registration and other rubbish.

Well you can circumvent (is that the word?

) that problem by right clicking on the archive/future archive and then select the appropriate option.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I never had any problems with them, because all unarchiving /archiving i do with Total Commander

But some people go to winrar just because of user friendlier environment.

It's actually not half the bother it could be. I never actually open the program anyway but just use the shell options.

Actually there's a rather new program I like from ALtools, it's kind of unheard of nut its fast and easy to use with a lot of options.
