    My latest mod, 4 Seasons, is now available.

    In this mod you play as one of four factions seeking to become the only empire in the world. The four factions are the Papal Empire (Papal States), Aztecs, Diabolical (based on my Mythological faction), and the Titanocene dicarbonyl.

    Each of these factions has been improved in some way to make the campaign more balanced and enjoyable.

    This mod also features the Highway mod by selenius4tsd (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1125).

    It is a combination of 2 mods I've made but it also has some features that were not in either of my mods, such as the units Skeletal Axemen and Aztec Riders (Aztec horsemen), and the Papal States ability to recruit Crusader units from their churches.

    Since this mod is mostly made up of my previous mods with most of the changes being none visual, such as being able to play as the Aztecs I didn't think screenshots would help. I guess I could upload some screenshots of the new units.

    ah, i see, more of a fantasy mod eh? , cause i don't remember aztec had their army on penisula?

    When a mod includes alien invasions and the undead little historical inaccuracies aren't that important.

    Also the reason the Aztecs are on the penisula is because the Diabolical faction cast a spell to summon 'otherworldly being' there to distract attention away from them (the effects of this spell were exaggerated). After being summoned the Aztecs when to war with Spain and Portugal, crushing them and taking large areas of their land to create a new Empire (oh the irony). However during this war a lot of the infrastructure was destroyed (I had to remove the buildings because the game crashes if a faction starts with a building they cannot build).

    In response to the Aztec Empire and Diabolical armies the Papal States decide to form an Empire to combat these threats by conquering their neighbours.

    The invasion by the Titanocene dicarbonyl is coincidental.

    I'd also be willing to combine this mod with other mods that have unusual units or factions (PM me with mod information).

    How is development going on your dragon models? Cause dragons are one of the big reasons ive been following your mythological mod, and it would be great if they actually looked like their profile avatar

    I can't improve the dragons because I'm not that skilled with meshes and textures. Trying to turn an elephant into something that looks like a dragon is very difficult.

    Also, whenever I attempt to proceed from turn 4 to turn 5, my game crashes, and give me the error message "an unspecified error caused the game to crash". Anybody know what causes this?
    Also can you give me more information about what you were doing in the turn the game crashed; such as what faction you were playing as and what you did that turn (did you conquer a settlement, complete a building, or recruit an agent or unit).

    Edit: okay I checked my mod and it does seem to crash at this point. When I turned off the fog of war I saw that the game crashed after an heretic stopped walking. So the problem is either with the Rebel faction or turn 5. My guess is that it's either that the Rebel faction has run too low on money or that it's because the 'World is Round' event occurs before gunpowder is invented. I'll be testing these later.

    oh I found the problem, i looked at the log file and it says that one of the character traits is unrecognized. Here is the message

    22:20:04.171 [game.script] [error] Condition parsing error in seasons/data/export_descr_character_traits.txt, at line 14735, column 21
    Trait not recognised

    you may want to fix this
    I've been getting that error for some time now and I have no idea what is causing it (I tried deleting the first trait had a problem with but then it just said another trait was causing a problem).

    I managed to get it working, but that is because I imported the character trait list from Deus Lo Vult mod. That character trait list on Deus Lo Vult was initially imported from 3 other mods; Blood Broads & Bastards v2.0 by Dearmad and Pnutmaster, Naval mod v1.1 by Hephaistos, and Zapppa's Death mod, as well as a couple Heraldic trait systems. And these would be pretty good additions to your system as well if you mind my opinion. However this just postpones the crash.

    As for what im doing at turn 5, well nothing really. The crash occurs with every faction regardless of my activity, so i think that what is happening is that some unit somewhere, maybe even that perticular heretic you spotted on the turn table, is supposed to aquire the trait listed at the location of line 14735, however the trait is not what it was seeking or something, it may even be misspelled or some other simple little thing like that.

    By the way, when you play the aztecs, and after the new world is discovered, the aztec nation on the other side of the ocean is cut off from the rest of the world, and ships cannot go over and pick up the aztec generals that are over there. If you intend the aztecs to be isolated in portugal area, you may want to make the cities in the new world which are occupied by the aztecs to change faction to the rebel faction. Otherwise the aztecs are the only faction that can win, since the other three factions would be unable to cross over to the new world and wipe out the rest of the aztecs.

    Ive been experimenting with various different character trait files from other games, and the best way I have found is by running the game without the file at all. Im guessing though that your piety bonus mentioned for the papal empire is based in the character traits file, so im not sure if you would be willing to discard the file wholesale.

    Does removing the character trait file fix this problem? If it does then this file is causing the problem and it needs to be fixed. Also without this file M2TW will use the default file, so you only lose a few new traits.

    The Aztec areas are acessable but you have to wait for the 'World is Round' event. I've set this event to occur about turn 10.

    Ive tested this and it doesn't appear to work either. If you play as the aztecs and hire a mercenary galley, that galley cannot cross the ocean to brazil and ferry armies or generals over. I moved that galley up and down the ocean but there appears to be a barrier of some sort 10 units out from the coast of portugal that runs from top to bottom of the map

    oh and the "World is Round" even occurs in turn 2

    Removing the file appears to fix the problem, so im pretty sure that it needs to be fixed.

    Sorry, removing the file just postpones the crash. Later on it appears somebody used an assassin as a saboteur and the good saboteur/bad saboteur effects were unable to be found and so the game crashed.

    you may need to scrap your whole trait system and start from scratch.

    That's annoying, since I just found the trait that caused the game to crash.

    However if the mod still crashes after you've removed the character trait file then the game should be using the default file, which has not been altered. What is the exact error you recieve? Also were you playing as Titanocene?

    In the vanillia version of M2TW you needed the Carrack to get to South America, so a galley won't work. However you can't get a carrack until after gun powder is discovered. I'm planning to change when these events occur so that after gunpowder is discovered you can attack go to South America.

    I wasn't playing the Titanocene, i was playing the Diabolicals, and i dont think it was anything i did, as the error log made referances to various assassin traits 'goodsaboteur, badsaboteur', and the error spanned about 30 lines since it appears to have run down the list of assassin traits like it was looking for something. Ill attach the file to this post.

    I've checked the error log, I've gotten the same errors as well. Basically the game cannot find the descriptions for these traits in the data\text\export_vnvs.txt file (I don't know why they're not there since I haven't deleted them). Try deleting this file and see if this fixes the problem.

    How will this affect mercenaries? Since the aztecs cannot actually build ships, will the vessels that they can hire change with the discovery of blackpowder?
    I didn't have any plans for the Aztecs to get any ships, since they appeared in Europe because of a spell cast by Diabolical and all their targets are in Eurasia. I guess that they could hire mercenaries. I'll have to check if Carracks can be hired because it they cannot then Diabolical cannot defeat the Aztecs since they can't build ships.
