    Default ad.doubleclick.net

I'm sure everyone has run into this problem. A page will load, and it will take forever to load ad.doubleclick.net.

What causes this? Is there a fix, a solution, anything to do to help?

Its so damn annoying when the page has to wait for doubleclick.net to load the actual page content.

I've never noticed ad.doublelick or whatever it is, but then I use Firefox with adblock, plus a common blocked list. As a result, I hardly ever notice any ads wherever I surf. Those that get through, I manually add to the list.

It's probably loading a fair amount of data (tracking info, web info, ad info ect.). Many sites use programs/software/scripts to record web user statistics. Statcounter is a common free one and it can hang at times. Even Google has their own Google Analytics program that webmasters can use and frequently it hangs processing info.

Additionally doubleclick can be adware. See this:
