i would like to write down a short paper of christian churches in this period. about the roman catholics, to avoid discontent or so, we are just reading history:

the primacy of the pope is a later invention supported on a couple of lines in the bible. the definition of the bishop of Rome as "successor Petri", is a late attribute, given as honorifical title to Leo I Magnus in 451, in the Council of Chalcedonia - and in that council the forgotten Canon 28 extablished the "parity" of primacy for the bishops of Rome and Constantinopolis. The title of "Vicarius Christi" is even later, used by Gelasius I in the Synod of Rome.

Great stuff Pompeius. I just love the battle-scared legionary in Picture 4.

Well, that painting style is forever gone (Angus Mc Bride died this year)

    Great work Pompeius,

    I love the new format.

Another possibility as to how Diocleatian increased the size of the legions was to amalgamate auxiliary units into legios, as the distinction between the two blurred considerable during the 3rd century.

    Cheers

No doubt. What you say is absolutely right. The reason why the legions increased is of course a combination of several reasons.

good new format. Once this work is finished i will like to collet it all and make a .pdf file, to have a downloadable unique file. you agree?

I know I am nitpicking but I just noticed the poor picture quality with the .gif format, and the letterings aren't that improved either. I know it might be a lot of work, but maybe it would be better to return to the .jpg format. if u need help doing that, send me the orig files and I can help u some.

    Oh no, Ramon.
You really think so? I mean the texts are very clear, and the photos looking like beautiful paintings. I mean 80% of the photos are only decoration. If a photo is really important (like the screenshots for formations, or the schematics) I let them "untouched" as "additional photo" below the post.
I printed the scipts in the office with our laser-printer. It looks beautiful.

I digress, now you mentioned it, they do look like watercolor paintings (I guess I was used to the original photos ) using the original photos would, of course, make the photos clearer, but using current style does add a personal touch
