First of all, I must thank the team for this wonderful mod. Definitely the best I played because of the nice work done on the units and the recrutment policy. That said, I have two major remarks (and suggestions) about the barbarians gameplay :
1) The AI hords don't settle in a clever way. My opinion is that, when forming a hord, a barbarian faction should a) refuse any alliance and b) look for the richest (biggest) city and attack it as soon as possible. It is very important for the gameplay cause, as the richest cities are located west/south, it would recreate the western invasion in a much more realistic manner. Could it be done by scripting ?
2) Playing Saxons,Franks or goths is a bit painful because there are treated as any other barbarian factions while they were not. One should remember they turned very quickly to christianism once settled in the west. But it is not possible in the game because of the high limitations of the barbarian character traits. To my opinion, the building of a monastery should trigger an automatic conversion of the governor to christianity as it happened in history (frankish leaders for instance, offered a huge amount of lands to monks to prove their loyalty to the christian dogma). Then it should unlock a couple of traits available for roman/christian characters.
