Let's face it, friends. We are in a dire situation in terms of '08 candidates. Of course, we can't allow some LIBERAL like Hilldog or Barack Osama from the Madrassa to be elected. So, we're left with the selection of Republicans.

And folks, right now, it's just not looking bright. We've got a bunch of nobodies like Sam Brownback and Tommy Thompson, and then a bunch of phonies and semi-liberals. Mitt Romney may like to hunt varments, but he's no true conservative. I mean, folks, he's from TAXACHUSETTS for Christ's sake. Rudy Jewliani is a half-breed. A social liberal trying to hide behind 9/11 (we all know the real savior was George W. Bush, President, and not some LIB mayor). John McCain is a psychotic old man who rants and raves about how conservative he is. But it's all an act. Campaign finance reform anyone? Tax hikes? Thought so.

Thus, it has become clear that one man, and only one man, can save the Republican party and, vicariously, the USA and, vicariously, the entire world. That man is none other than the great Tom DeLay!

He's a genuine conservative who served the Republican party with distinction and class for years. He was driven out of office by a malicious partisan, Ronnie Earl (a DEM).

So, fellow TWC'ers, I ask for you to help me initiate a great campaign that will be supported, most certainly, by all who hear of it.

Well, I have to agree with you on the main Republican canidates, they are not true conservatives. But I like Rudy and McCain, but they mix and match their beliefs. I want a true conservative, by god!

Mate, this is The Political Mudpit, a political discussion forum. If you don't want disruption, then I suggest you go to dedicated Republican forum. If you post to this thread, then be prepared to have some discussion.

Surely, the ethnic slur is over the top. Who cares if someone is half Jew? Does it matter? This is exactly the same kind of ideology Nazi Germany held. What should matter is how devoted the candidate is to his/her country, not some obscure ethnic bloodline the candidate is born into.

I hope this guy does not represent the "true conservative" of US, who seems to lean towards ethnic separatism bordering blatant racism.

On a side note Id love to see Delay front the Repuiblicans, he'd probably do even worse as a presidential candidate from a major party than McGovern. A proven history of corruption and the charisma of a bookshelf.

Ya, I mean a guy who has never voted to raise taxes, and is always voted the taxpayer's best friend by the National Taxpayer's Union, probably wouldn't make a good candidate for the Republican Party. The following credentials are probably useless too.

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.

sorta OT: i personally believe the charges against delay were fairly partison and trumped up, but still, dont start a delay for president thread and not expenct a bunch of people going after ur ideas.
