im confused. So you've been having trouble playing the newest version (2.0 TLR) on the new patch? or you install 1.8 after you have installed 1.2? I think the second thing is what you meant. You need to do a clean install. Then install 1.1, then 1.8.
I would Highly recommend 2.0 after patch 1.2, but that's your choice.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

The Direct to Drive version of MTW2 wasn't available for patching when 2.0 came out... in fact, it wasn't available when I started playing a month later. The patch still might not be available...
However, the 1.2 version of the game is fully downloadable, but then you have to DL the full game again, rather than a smaller patch to be able to play TLR 2.0, which I would guess some people would then rather play an older version of TLR. Myself, I opted for simply waiting a day to play the mod, and redownloaded the whole thing, at 1.2 from D2D.
I would guess that I am going to have one hell of a time when the expansion comes out.
Would savegames of TLR 1.8 created with TW v1.1 be compatible, and would the mod work If I upgraded TW to v1.2?
would order matter? can I just upgrade to v1.2, or do I need to uninstall (keeping my savegames), get TW1.2 running then reinstall TLR 1.8?
I had a rather involved game going several months back, which I would to continue now. But I would also like to take advantage of things like shield bug getting fixed, official fix to 2h-bug, and perhaps better ai in TW patch 1.2
While many of the TLR 2.0 changes look nice, I want to see my Danes in the Americas!
Thanks in advance!
1.8 is for 1.1
