This is...wierd

Well,ive went to my grandma today,and she has a problem with her tv,when you turn it on a timer appears for 5 minutes and if you wait until the 5 minutes are over the TV shuts down,and the cable doesnt work,altough on her other tv the cable seems to work you can watch tv with no problem.Any sugestions?:hmmm:

Can you turn the timer off via the TV menu system while the TV is still on?

The TV does have a option to set the time when it will go off,but when i went in the menu,the option wasn`t activated.Anything i do will reset the timer back to 5 min,i.e. i change the channel and the the wierd timer appears and resets back to 5 min and as i said before the cable doesnt work,the screen is with those black and white dots,(how do you call them?).Any more sugestions?,It`s really really wierd.
