Need Help

Hi Guys,
i have some problems with the Platinum 1.9 Version.

I have the "Rome Total War Gold" Edition on 1 cd/dvd from sega and installed in the folder c:programs/creative as../rome total war

I installed the game as normal. RTW ist 1.5 and BI is 1.6.
The game works.

Next i installed the platinum edition 1.9 in another direction and copied the files into my rome folder. I got the following message: "Your version of Rome Total War appears to be incorrect. This mod requires RTW version 1.5., or RTW:BI version 1.6."

ok i have read somewhere here that i can ignore that, becaus it is the amercian version.

Next move was to start the "campaign_map_reset.bat" . I did it.

Well, i started the game. I can do historical battles and custom battles but if i will start an campaign the game crush. Why?

Next problem is that i have sometimes sound and sometimes not. Why?

So where are my mistakes? I cant find what is wrong.

When you ran the batch file named "campaign_map.reset.bat", was this file located in the main "Rome - Total War" folder, and not in any sub-folder or other folder entirely? I created this batch file to automate the deletion of any pre-existing "map.rwm" file that would prevent RTR Platinum from loading. This batch contains OS commands to navigate from the main RTW folder to the location of this file and to delete it. It sounds like this file, "map.rwm", has not been deleted. With RTW v1.5, it is found in the "RTW\Data\world\maps\base" folder. Earlier versions of RTW had it located in the "RTW\Data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign" folder. Make sure no "map.rwm" file existing in either of these folders. This file is automatically created by the RTW game engine when a new campaign is started if this file does not already exist.

If this file was created with Vanilla RTW before installing RTR Platinum, the symptoms you describe would happen. A new "map.rwm" file needs to be generated using the modified files of RTR Platinum.

The sound problems are not due to RTR Platinum, more than likely, but due to either RTW itself, or the sound card's driver file. You may need to update your driver files for your sound card. Other than that, I'm not sure what the sound problem may be, unless its a problem with files being installed in the wrong location.

Hi, yes this file was located in the main folder.

I have done this, and no map.rwm file exists. But the game crushs again! Why???
