    Default Need to reactivate Windows

After installing a new sound card, removing an old CD drive and a bad hard drive, I log in, only that Windows gives me the message to reactive Windows because the hardware changed significantly.

I used the telephone option, but it says that I have used my product key too much. (Well, my dad using that same XP installation disk and installing it on every PC in my family has something to do with it.)

Did you go all the way through to where you talk to a customer service rep? It takes a bit of time but if you stick with it it will forward you on to a customer service rep.

So for how many PC's you have the licence?

So in other words: your dad broke the license by installing it on more than one PC.

I think buying a new copy of XP is your only legal option, and I can't discuss illegal options here.

I'm not sure how many PCs, probably used it around 14 times.

You will be way over the licence terms there, then (it's usually 1 (for OEM) to 2 or 3 (for retail))

Well, I solved the problem with my dad using the key from his laptop. Better not move any hardware now...
