    Default Skinning help

We're still got a long way to go! If anyone wants to learn (I know I've said this before!) I can help you get grounded.

I'd really appreciate a bit of extra help if anyone has the inclination.

Good news - we're going to be joined by a new skinner - Raven Darkwing. He's done some good looking stuff, so give him a warm welcome when he arrives. Also Marcus Illuminatus has offered to do some 2D work (or possibly some skinning) so with any luck we'll be able to get motoring a bit faster with this.

Ha! And I just asked him to become a beta tester.

I will try my hand at skinning. Not hard stuff though, I am more comfortable helping you guys code.

Thanks. Looks like we may have two new people arriving on board to help out, so up to you.

One potential project that's fairly well defined is the reskinning and sorting out of Pinarius models - basically all that is required there is the saddlecloths. We need to choose 3 skins for each faction (he's done more colours than that), call them something like:

    light_horse_armenia.tga
    medium_horse_armenia.tga
    general_horse_armenia.tga

And then replace the saddlecloths either with some of webbird's stuff or with our own. Obviously we've got a load of different factions form what either of these have done and I don't particularly like Pinarius' ones.

It wouldn't take too much to help with that.

Obviously there's a lot of coding to do as well and you may be happier doing that. I'll leave it for you to decide. maybe give the skinning a go and see how you do?

Whatever you do, please be consistant in naming things. And it helps LOADS to put the correct faction name in the unit name. Sorting out new skins is much easier that way.
