When i play BF2142 my average frame rate is about 30-40 FPS is this normal because i though it would be higher with my specs.

dual core 6300 1.86GHZ
2GB ram
RADEON x1950 pro

the settings are all on high with AA on 4X

maybe lower the AA? or if there is a shadow option turn off the shadows....when i played medieval 2 total war with shadows i had HUGE lag with the big battles but when i turned off the shadows i played lag free....im not sure if turning off shadows will help in a shooter game but im just guessing

AFAIK Vista's gaming performance is somewhat lower than XP's. 30-40 FPS is decent...what res are you playing at?

1024@768 @ 70mhz or something like that

Try it in XP and compare your results...@ that res, with your specs, I would assume higher as well. I get the same FPS and I've got my 1950 Pro paired with an AMD 3800 @ 1280x1024.
