Is there any way too hook up Xbox live without a router and just to your computer?

You need two network cards to start with... That is if you don't want to change the cable between PC and Xbox all the time...
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam...
Is that the same with a wireless network? (thats what my house is on)
Oh, and is there any way to find out what your IP adress is?

Are we talking about the good ol' black Xbox or the 360? There is a wireless adapter available for the 360. The recommendations for the old Xbox is not to use wireless connection because of lag issues and such...
I have the following connection:
[NETWORK/LAN]->[Wireless router]->[PC with wireless adapter]+[Xbox 360 with wireless adapter]
For my old Xbox i used the following:
[DSL/MODEM]-network cable->[HUB]-network cable->[PC]+[Xbox]
NOTE: Some multiplayer games are sensitive when it comes to lag issues. Recommendation is to NOT use the PC at the same time as you are playing. Im on a 100/10 connection and so far I haven't had any problems.
You can see your IP in many different ways. One easy way is to visit a site like http://whatsmyip.org/

Alright thanks, wireless adapters it is.
Currently my problem is something about IP (I'll update after I try again)
And it is the 360, my shiny black one.
Try to find a well-priced used Wireless adapter. Microsoft essentially mugs you in terms of charging you a ridiculous price for a wireless adapter with their propriety bs..... I mean come on.... $130-$150 for a wireless adapter????!?!
