Anyone know where i can find the file that allows me to edit and change my factions name pool?

first you will need to unpack the game, then check in data folder descr_names and descr_names_lookup any changes must be added in both

You also have to edit the string bin files for names.

Normally when I change names things get screwed up so... I try not to do that.

you need to make sure the name is under the right sections in desrc_names and the lookup the names_enum may need to be editied as well, and remember other factions cannot take names out of other pools

I know, I do everything exactly the way everyone tells you to but it still gets screwed up.

Why they can take names from other factions. 2 factions can have the same names, why not?

Most factions have different names I think.

Yes most factions have different names. But look closely and you'll realise some factions share a few of the same names.

I know *Some* do but you still have to look up the names for your faction.

you have not to unpack all the files...judt edit the .bat file from unpack_all to unpack_*file you want*...
