Default Will Tenochtitlan Be Portrayed Accurately?

As most people know the largest contributing factor to the Aztec capital's greatness was the fact that it was built in the center of a lake. In Medieval 2 that aspect of the city was ignored. Do you think that because Kingdom's offers an expanded campaign, CA modelers will be/are working to realisticly portray Tenochtitlan as a city in the lake? Or will they leave it unaccurate and boring?

People, you could already make a Tenochtitlan now. In the battle editor. It's just that everyone (including me) is lazy or too busy. It's one of the things I am hoping to make, after my Paeninsula Italica duties, if the CA guys don't make it for Kingdoms.

I doubt they will make it correctly, just like they didn't make Constantinople correctly either. Not that I really care... its just a city!

That would be awsome, defending a whole city from one land bridge and there would also tons of mini island farming patches. How gay would it be if they just made it a regular city.

Considering the wayanother faction has been looking, I'm not holding my breath.

I'm about 50% sure they won't make it correctly...

All the cities look the same in the game, changing between castles and cities added some differences, but in general cities of the same size and culture look the same.

Yeah but you'd think that CA would put a little more effort into Tenochtitlan, after all it is the most important city in reguards to the Spanish conquest of Latin America. I can understand not making it correctly for the original game, but when they are making an entire campaign scenario based on it I would hope they would model the city correctly. It could be that hard could it?

Yeah it was the largest city in the world at the time, far larger than any european city, even constantinople.

It also had the largest population in the world...the entire aztec population was 25 million across mesoamerica...so Tenochtitlan was pretty damn large...not filled with 25 million of course but still a huge number.

wait, now to think of it, it actually would be almost impossible to make correctly based on that...lol

I think the chances of there being any unique battle map cities in the expansion are about the same as me hooking up with Jenna Haze this weekend.

    lol

I don't actually care about the size of the city. If they make it out on an island in a lake then I'd be content. It doesn't seem like that would be very hard to accomplish.

but also, I'm not too sure on this, but aren't the cities/maps/castles based on certain files and texture files...

that maybe the reason they didn't make cities such as rome, or constantinople, jerusalem unique because the game engine had to make them all the same to an extent...

could be the case with the expansion... but that's just my guess.

I pitched the idea of starting a mod to make those cities unique in the mods forum and the general consensus was that, as you suspect, the cities are more or less hard coded to be generic and it would be a massive task to create exceptions =(

Well, they might not, just like they didn't make Venice unique from other cities on the battle map. But it's really not too big a deal, I mean of course it would be wicked cool to have it accurately portrayed, but its not a game-killing omission.

I guess what I'm saying is Venice, Constantinople, or Jerusalem could have been better portrayed, but how they are now is just fine.
