I play mine on 1 year per turn and I like it alot more than 2 years per turn.
yeah, i posted this then remembered i can do it my self
And how many years is the game set over? I cant remember. And no point making a new thread but are pilgrims worth taking into your army? I remember them from last time i played and i know they suck in combat but did they give me favour with the pope or anything?
now i got the hard choice of picking who i want to play asnormally id go england since im english but being stuck in britain is miles away from all the action, yet spain is cool, and i havnt really played as the HRE so i might try them, i hate starting new campaigns, i always restart them

450 years, 1080 to 1530.And how many years is the game set over?
I use six months per turn, with build times, population growth etc tweaked accordingly. I doubt it'd be to many peoples taste as campaigns take a loooong time, but I enjoy it that way.
I like 1 year per turn, seems to work out nicely.

You bet it is! (sorry I had to...)
On topic now: Yea, the game is fine as it is really... I cannot se it going any further due to the lack of (I believe) advanced guns (repeating)... Also as it is I have never finished a game in M2TW... I always go "OOooo, shiny other factions!" *Restart*.... More turns would just kill me -_-
LOL i play almost exactly like u. i basically play until im am totally dominating the game, and then i quit and start playing with the factions that ive unlocked. i love the enitial building up of the empire. i always get sick of it when my empire is huge and ive got 30 cities i gotta deal with with 15 problems happening all over the place and im at war with 6 factions and im having to move 8 armies at the same time. plus dealing with upgrading or otherwise dealing with the older armies. i just cant remember all that stuff that i have planned. i love having bout 10 cities, 2 big armies, and just duking it out with one faction. where by the time i research a new unit, its time to build a new army, rather then trying to retrofit 7 or 8 of them.

I like the 1:1 ratio mainly because you get a chance to enjoy developing your generals before they die of old age. With 1 turn to 2 years (default i think) your blokes are dust almost before you've really gotten to know them, especially if you send them on crusade.

i had a 27 prince turn king, sent him out to conquer egypt from london and he died on the way, maybe i should have used a boat the whole way![]()
Yeah, I'm gonna have to restart soon because Road to Jerusalem is coming out very soon. After that is Stainless Steel 4.0
is the new TLR any good? ive tried out the one that was out bout 3 months ago or sooner, and i just didn't like it very much. everything was super expensive, and i didn't like how u could recruit everything from cities and castles, and how u could even recruit some units not available yet. all the changes in costs and pool numbers seemed to make it more confusing and took away the big difference between castles and cities as far as unit availability goes.
