Crashing :(

running RTRPE v1.8, I haven't had any problems with it and was loving the reinvigorated RTW game until it started crashing more and more frequently. I am at the years 236-238 and when I click the end turn button, the game will say an unexpected error occured and crashes to desktop. Now, Ive tried just cycling through the turns quickly and it seems to go along fine but then Im under attack/besieged anywhere and when I respond it might crash upon pressing the end turn button. Is there a specific trigger that causes the crash upon ending the turn ? I am sooo far into my roman campaign that I would really hate to start over (about 3 weeks worth of play). Any suggestions ?

Update to RTRPE 1.9, many fixes were included with the new version.

Your saved files from previous versions might not be valid. At the very least some of the changes will require a new campaign to take effect.

A few advices regarding your roman campaign. Try to have follow the AI characters option checked. Try to see if there are any settlements revolting and if there are try to stop the revolt. If a settlement is revolting it is apparently a good thing to let only one unit inside. Not 0, not more.
If you are involved into battles that involve reinforcements try to avoid that certain battles. Sometimes a CTD happens in this situations. The example: you are besieging a settlement and another AI army tried to relieve it. You fight both armies, destroy both so you should be able to take the now empty settlement, but it crushes. Try to save before the battle or even right before the option to occupy/enslave/exterminate. Then load the saved game and try a few more times. I remember doing this for a TE campaign(it`s not a RTRPE specific bug) and I managed to take it eventually.
