    Default Shaders

I don't think my computer has shader support, is there any way to turn off shaders?
    I Pwn enemies with bagpipes.

    Guitars too.

Too bad Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden pwns me. (They are the world's two best bands.)

shader 1 is too powerful for your graphics? what is your card. and there might be a way i'll look around.

    EDIT:
open up medieval2.preference (the cfg file) and scroll down to video and where is says shader = 2 (or 1) try changing it to shader = 0 i haven't tried it but it would be worth trying.

shadows are off, the game says the battle is completely loaded, but doesn't leave the load screen.

To be honest, if your card doesn't support any kind of shaders at all then its unlikely to be able to run the game anyway, let alone with a playable framerate.
